How to adjust the slurry pump impeller clearance

Adjust the core principle of the slurry pump impeller: adjust the clearance between the impeller and the front guard plate (or front and rear sheath) to ensure the efficiency and life of the pump. Too large a gap is low efficiency, too small a gap is easy to wear.

1. vertical slurry pump:

Loosen the compression bolt of the bearing assembly.

Unscrew the adjusting bolt to move the bearing assembly forward while manually rotating the shaft in the direction of pump rotation until the impeller slightly touches the front guard plate.

(Rubber lined pump) Measure the clearance between the impeller and the front and rear sheaths separately, and take half of the distance moved by the bearing assembly as the clearance value.

Use the adjusting bolt to precisely adjust the clearance to the specified value (metal liner 0.5-1mm, rubber liner front and rear sheath clearance is equal).

Tighten the compression bolt of the bearing assembly.

2. Center-open slurry pump:

Factory has been adjusted, generally 0.75-1.00mm. operation found problems and then adjusted.

Similar to vertical pumps, the clearance is adjusted by adjusting the position of the bearing seat.
