    PRODUCT DETAILS

Introducing our SFV Series Vertical Froth Pumps, a new generation product specially designed for the efficient and stable pumping of flotation mineral froth. Drawing inspiration from international advanced technology and expertise, these pumps exhibit exceptional reliability when handling abrasive or corrosive slurries containing froth. With a distinctive structural design, they effectively eliminate froth during operation, mitigate air lock issues at the impeller eye, and continue to operate seamlessly even with insufficient incoming material. Widely embraced in metallurgy, mineral processing, coal washery, chemical, pulp and paper, and other industries.

The SFV Vertical Froth Pumps belong to the centrifugal slurry pumps with a double-casing structure. Beyond the commonly used high-chrome alloy, the wetted parts can also be crafted from rubber or polyurethane to cater to highly corrosive froth slurry. The differences between this series of pumps and ordinary slurry pumps are that they are installed vertically and have a semi-open impeller, the inlet of the pump is at the spiral back liner, there is a conical tangentially fed tank on the upper side of the inlet. These unique structural elements facilitate the swift entry of frothy slurry into the pump, allowing air bubbles to escape along the axis. The absence of shaft seals and submerged bearings translates to simplified maintenance and reduced costs.

It’s worth noting that the hanging shaft design imposes limitations on the total head due to the critical speed of the pump. Generally capped at around 25 meters, with a maximum outlet size of 8 inches. For those with higher heads and flow rate needs in challenging operating conditions, our SFH Series Horizontal Froth Pumps are the latest innovation in froth slurry pumps, purposefully designed and developed to meet these demanding specifications.

    Features and Benefits

    1. Robust Structural Design: Featuring a double-casing with lined wear and corrosion-consistent wetted parts, and a sturdy vertical shaft, ensuring reliability and an extended service life.
    2. Optional Wetted Parts: Commomly made from high chrome alloy, rubber, or polyurethane are availabe for enhanced adaptability to highly corrosive slurry with froth.
    3. Special Conical Tank: Employing a conical feed tank with a tangential feed inlet and an overflow port, this design improves the contact time between froth ore slurry and air. It facilitates air bubbles escape, ensuring the efficient discharge of excess froth from the tank.
    4. Optimal Impeller Design: Utilizing a semi-open impeller with vanes on the upper side of the impeller shroud, creating a vortex that aids in air bubbles escaping from around the shaft.
    5. Flexible Drive Arrangement: Choose between direct coupling or belt drive based on working conditions and individual preferences.
    6. Reliable Bearing Assembly:Adopting integrally movable cartridge bearing assembly from VP vertical sump pumps with grease-lubricated roller bearings, allowing for easy maintenance and simple impeller clearance adjustment.
    7. Cost Savings: With no submerged bearings or shaft seals, the need for shaft seal water is eliminated, resulting in reduced operating costs.

    Structure Drawing Diagram

The diagram below shows the basic structure of SFV Vertical Froth Pumps. The conical feed tank is constructed of steel or stainless steel, and can also be lined with rubber, providing versatility in material options. It features both a tangential feed port and an overflow port. The overflow port facilitates the easy redirection of excess incoming material back to the sump or tank. The tangential inlet is designed to expedite the material’s entry into the pump, effectively eliminating a portion of the froth.

The cartridge-type bearing assembly adopts grease lubrication, the upper part is a metric cylindrical roller bearing, the lower part is an imperial double-row tapered roller bearing, and the seal type adopts two sealing methods: labyrinth seal and skeleton oil seal.

    Wet End Parts Materials

The wet-end parts of SFV Vertical Froth Pumps comprise the impeller, volute liner, spiral back liner, and throat bush. The primary materials used are wear and corrosion-resistant high chrome alloy, with elastomer also available to accommodate diverse working conditions. For your specific application, our team of sales experts will provide thoughtful suggestions and solutions. Refer to the table below for detailed performance and applications.
