I have a Whirlpool duet washing machine listed above. I have been having draining problems for awhile. Constantly get the F02 error code. I went to some fix-it websites. After removing the front bottom panel, I have cleaned out the drain. It was very gunky. Put it pack together - worked okay for one or two loads, but then got F02/Suds. Went back to internet. Another suggestion to take off pump itself. Did this, found a piece of fiber around the propeller of the drain pump. Put it back together - no leaks. Again, worked okay for 2 loads - then F02 error. I called Whirlpool - suggested using Assfresh tablets to totally clean out drains. 3rd time I did this, the F02 error came on and the machine will not drain. Drain pump assembly seems faulty. Is this an easy part to replace? It looks like it is? If I replace this part and I still have problems can I return the part. My machine is almost 6 years old, (purchased in August, 2003). I don’t really want to replace my washer, so I would like to try to replace pump myself. Please advise.
NO!!! Once you install a part, ITS YOURS!!! If the pump has been locked up with junk for long, It should be replaced!!! What kind of soap and how much are you using?
Use HE soap - minimal. However, I do have well water. Have a large partical filter, but sometimes have a lot of rust. Have used rust remover in machine. Other question - is it easy to install part? It looks like I just plug in the electrical connection to the motor. Is this correct?
Here are your parts Here is a service manual which should help If you are not doing this I would drain some water out of the hot water tank on a regular basis. Should improve tank life but also makes the tank more efficient. Run it till the water is clear. Try is once a month to start till you get a feel for how often it should be done.
My washer is 6 years old too!!! The new pump looks a bit different from the factory installed, but I assure you it’s better and it fits. Gather all the tools you’ll need. Heck call me and I’ll walk you through it. I just did what you need to do, I removed and repaced my drain pump assembly. I’m a mother of 4. It was cake!!! and my washer works fantastic now and bye bye stinky odor my new pump doesn’t leave water to get stinky!!! Go get yourself the part and get on it! you CAN do it!
You posted a service manual for the Whirlpool Duet washer. Why can’t I view it? I’m stuck in a never ending loop! Help!
It must be your PC does not have the program to support it or you PC is not updated etc… I can try to send you the page that you are looking for through email if you’d like. Don’t dispare, there is a way. Like I said call me I’ll walk you through it. I have unlimited long distance no issue for me to call you either.
