Monoblock pump: A Monoblock pump is a pump in which all rotating parts are mounted on a common shaft. The main components of a Monoblock pumps are Pump assembly and Motor assembly. Since there are 7% losses in belt driven sets and 3% losses in coupling driven sets hence to avoid these transmission losses Monoblock pump sets evolved. In monoblock pump sets as motor and pump are mounted on a single shaft there is no energy loss during energy transmission from motor to shaft.
A monoblock pump is a small pump that has no base plates, couplings, or guards, which keeps it small. A centrifugal pump is larger, with added features and impellers to give the pump hydraulic lift.
Centrifugal pump : The simplest of pumps. A vaned rotor rotates inside the pump body. The water spins to the outside of the pump rotor and is forced out of the outlet pipe. The differential pressure across the pump continuously reprimes it. Very common in vehicle cooling systems, power showers and in washing machines.
