Try raising the pump a couple inches if you get time. Sometimes there is a point just above your pump that the water equalizes at. One of the first thing I did when I moved in was put a new pump in. it ran a lot. I put a 4" block in the bottom of my pit and it greatly reduced how often it runs but still keeps water well below slab
You can likely accomplish the same by simply adjusting the float or the limit switches, depending on how the particular unit is configured.
