I've got a sump pump pit in one corner of my basement. There wasn't a pump in it when we moved in about 2011. The basement is a walk out and the one time we had a pipe leak and water covered the floor it barely made it to the pit. Have not seen it overflow yet. BUT it does often have about 3 inches of standing water in it after heavy rains. Can anyone recommend a small reliable sump pump. I asked similar back in this thread, but that was for a different house. Here I only need to pump a few gallons up about 3 feet.
A tankless condensate pump would be ideal. If you buy a good brand, like Little Giant, it will be reliable. Look for one similar to this, but, that can be fully submerged.
This one says it is submersible.
But, it says, (Pump should not be used where water level can exceed the ON level of the pump). My guess is, that's about an 1.5" That suggests it cannot be submerged? I don't see the one I used, it did not have any plastic. They do have a pump that can be submerged, that look similar to this, but then he need to rig a switch, that could be a pain. Perhaps Little Giant customer service?
It does say " It is a totally submersible pump with a built-in, advanced non-mercury mechanical switch ". What is more than total?
You'd have to ask them that. I would agree it doesn't make sense.
