Do®Pump is a China slurry pump manufacturer, and the slurry pumps ranges include abrasive slurry pump, horizontal slurry pump, metal slurry pump, rubber lined slurry pump, submersible slurry pump, vertical slurry pump, sand gravel pump, and Warman slurry pump parts.
An abrasive slurry pump is a type of centrifugal pump, which are used for to pumping abrasive, highly corrosive, high wear, and high solids slurries by a rotating a centrifugal pump impeller. Comparing with other type of centrifugal pumps and sludge pumps, the abrasive slurry pumps are generally designed to handle larger particles and higher concentrations of abrasives in mineral processing, dredging etc.
Slurry is usually classified according to the concentration of solids, including sand, gravel, mining products slurry. Engineering classification of slurry is more complex, and the definition of slurry involves character of solid, concentration, particle size, shape, weight, PH, slurry density, flow rate etc, in order to determine the abrasion severity of slurries. How to select an appropriate slurry pump, the slurry pump engineers need to consider pump capacity, slurry pressure or head, solids handling capacity, particle pass ability, efficiency and power, pump material for abrasive and/or corrosive environment, pump speed and NPSH, and pump parts materials.
DOH™ slurry pumpare heavy duty working pumps, and the abrasive slurry pump is designed to keep the slurry from wearing the components of the pump, by using high abrasive pump parts materials. Slurry is flowed from the pump suction and is pumped out through the discharge. A rotating impeller in the abrasive slurry pump is creating the centrifugal pressure.
The main parts of an abrasive slurry pump are the impeller, volute liner, throatbush, frame plate liner insert and shaft. The volute is the part of the pump where the slurry is discharged. The impeller creates the centrifugal force necessary to move the slurry, and the shaft drives the impeller and seals the slurry against the walls of the volute. The pump parts of 1.5/1B-DOH is exchangeable to AH slurry pump, and rubber lined can be changed to AHR slurry pump.
The slurry pump impeller is the main rotating component, which can create centrifugal performance of slurry pump. The pumps are designed in abrasive materials, either elastomer, natural rubber, stainless steel or high-chrome material, the impeller of slurry pump is deigned with blades and vanes which impart the centrifugal force to the slurry.
The split outer volute liner is also manufactured in material of high chrome alloy, natural rubber, elastomer, stainless steel to maintain consist abrasive characters, and the shape of the volute liner to slurry pump is acting high efficiencies, large particle pass ability and high abrasive.
Comparing with other centrifugal pumps, a large diameter shaft to slurry pumps with a short overhang in order to minimize the deflection and vibration, and heavy-duty roller bearings installed on the shaft are housed in a removable bearing assembly.
A hardened, heavy-duty corrosion-resistant sleeve with O-ring seals at both ends protects the shaft. A split fit allows the sleeve removed or installed quickly. The shaft sleeve of slurry pump can be designed with material of chrome in heat treatment, SiC, SS304 or SS316 stainless steel.

DOH™ slurry pumpis a type of horizontal high-chrome-material lined pump that can handle large particals, high contration of slurry and solid, and abrasive and/or corrosive slurry in the mineral processing plants, including metallurgical, mining, coal, petroleum & chemical, transportation, sand and gravel in river and channel dredging, building material and municipal projects, and other industries, such as chemical, power, paper, and food industries.
An abrasive slurry pump is a type of mining pump used to move abrasive slurries, usually containing sand, gravel, and concrete, with a high content of suspended solids. The pump features a heavy-duty design that allows it to endure the extremely high force of a slurry flow, ensuring reliable pumping of abrasive materials. These abrasive slurry pumps are specifically designed to handle the tough conditions and solids that occur in mining and other industrial applications. The pump works by creating a vacuum seal and pumping the slurry at high pressure. The design and size of the abrasive slurry pumps are determined by the requirements of the application.
Abrasive slurry pumps are an essential component in the mining and industrial industries. Not only do they keep the components of the pump from being damaged, but they also reduce production costs by reducing the effort and time needed to move the abrasive material. The pump design and size are determined by the type of abrasive material being pumped and the flow rate requirements, which vary greatly in the industry.
Capable of handling up to 3,000 gpm and pumping no less than 500 feet of static head, abrasive slurry pumps are designed with special materials including high-chromium cast steel, hard-iron, Ni-Hard, and alloy materials to resist wear and cavitation. Additional features of pump parts, such as wear plates, impeller blades, and cylindrical liners, ensure extended life so you can get the utmost value out of your slurry pumping system.
The specific design of an abrasive slurry pump is inherently determined by its various components. Wear parts, including wear plates, impellers, and casing, are fabricated from high wear-resistant materials specifically designed to outlast conventional materials when pumping abrasive slurries. The expeller of the pump is also designed with chrome material to reduce wear and extend component life. The liner of the pump is machined to a precision tolerance and can be machined into various shapes such as a labyrinth seal to effectively seal the pump for enhanced operational efficiency.
Other components included in an abrasive slurry pump are diffusers, gaskets, and seals. A diffuser is used to contain the pressure created by the centrifugal forces in the pump. Gaskets are used to ensure an effective seal to prevent leakage. The seals of an abrasive slurry pump are made from various materials such as rubber, nitrile, and ceramic, and also come equipped with elastomers and lubricants for improved performance.
In conclusion, an abrasive slurry pump is a specialized pump used for transferring slurry or other agglomerated material. It is made of special materials that can stand the corrosive, abrasive nature of slurry and has the capacity to pump large amounts of solids. Appropriate components such as wear plates, impeller blades, gaskets, diffusers, and seals are used to ensure optimal performance and extended component life.
