Old one is perfect but not able to go the distance
Was chatting my baler man this evening who was using a cross to mix a 3 bay single .or trying to mix it.had 9 load of 2250 gals of water in it and it was only starting to move. He was saying the only thing he didn't get in the tank was money. So as said above the best mixer is lots of water
That's ok but you need room for water and lot of us now have to spread with some sort of pipe system (non splash plate)so slurry needs to be well agitated
+1, additional water and your current pump will do fine Its more difficult at this time of year if the slurry is there since last spring as it has seperated and there is a crust 2ft thick at this stage. I find we usually need 10-15 percent additional water to agitate our 8ft underground tank, on the 1st of June, and that tank has zero foreign bodies in it, im pretty sure I didn't have to untangle one single cord from the bottom of the agitator. Double 4 bay tank with a 10foot window in the centre wall to allow complete circulation, full circulation achieved and ready to empty in 2hrs. Redrock superflow agitator, 100hp at the PTO required per redrock brochure. Its also much more difficult in fact you will not succeed if the slurry is up over the level of the bridge, as that crust simply will not flow around. Need to empty until down under the bridge and give it a second stir.
Hispec, it's ok for 40 to 50 feet it's when you need to go double that
Tanks were emptied in June as regards 4 bays not a problem I'm talking 8 to10 bay
I know it needs to be thin.our first slurry was piped 23 years ago and being done since.its just a case of add , mix and pump a bay at a time till you get get it all mixed. The lad I referred to if he can mix brings a side slinger and tells them to have slats lifted and a digger there when he lands.
If there that long sure a manhole slat in 1 or 2 places will make a difference trying to mix
+1, or does your agitator have a top fill, a layflat pipe going to bay 8 or 10 and let gravity assist a bigger agitator will have more flow but only the same pressure, yes a bigger agitator might get to bay 6 or 7 but I doubt 8 or 10
There in it, just trying to stay outside
Has top fill + built in pipe system in tanks all takes time. l just want to know of a good agitator that someone HAS or WORKING with that will mix slurry at a distance of 5 to 6 bays sheds have agitation points at each end
Cross
I tried a cross agitator during the week and was very impressed but I’m still not fully convinced. If you go on cross website there are 2 agitators and both say 60hp is the required amount to drive them. The Nc3800 says minimum power is 110. The cross is much harder drive than an NC so I cannot...
I got convinced after
Conor here will drive it 8 bays If the slurry is at the correct level and plenty of water
Is the bearing a hoor of a job to replace on the cross agitator ?
My baler man got his cross done below in cross factory.bearings and a shaft and I think he said a cutter bar aswell .1200 euro. It has does a sight of tough mixing for 9 months of the year
Saw one of these working a good few years ago, dont know if they are still made but it had big output and simple construction.
I’ll let you know when it goes
