Are you sure it’s not leaking at the plastic Y-connector? They have o-rings inside that can go bad. You can get replacement o-rings from your local auto parts store or even Amazon.
A lot, considering Rock Auto sells the Motorcraft pump for $99 and the belt for $29. Not too hard of a part to replace.
How handy are you? Do any of your own mechanical work? Just looking on YouTube it doesn't look like it's that difficult of a job. There's a bunch of stuff to move out of the way but the pump itself appears to just bolt to the front. Were it mine I'd have it brought home on a flatbed wrecker and do it myself.
Almost $1500 seems like a lot to me.
You could call around to dealers and other shops for a quote and have it delivered if they're significantly less.
