Weir is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its Warman AH horizontal slurry pump, a product that has remained a mainstay in mining and mineral processing operations around the world since its introduction in 1965.
Widely used in cyclone feed, flotation, regrind, and tailings applications, the Warman AH pump is one of the most recognised heavy-duty slurry pumps in the industry. For six decades, it has helped drive processing operations with a reputation for performance, reliability, and adaptability.
“It’s rare for any product to remain the undisputed leader in its category for six decades, but the Warman AH horizontal slurry pump has done just that,” said Anastasia Zimsen, marketing manager for Warman Pumps. “As the number one heavy-duty slurry pump in the world for 60 years, it continues to be the trusted choice across industries and continents. This milestone is a celebration of enduring innovation, engineering excellence, resilience and trust we’ve earned with our customers.”
First developed to address the demanding conditions of slurry transport, the AH pump has continued to evolve over the decades. Its robust design and wear-resistant materials make it suitable for the harshest environments, while multiple configuration options allow it to be tailored to a range of operational requirements.
The pump's longevity is attributed to a strong focus on continuous improvement, supported by testing, operational data, and direct engagement with customers.
“Over the years, the Warman AH horizontal slurry pump has undergone countless iterations, each driven by rigorous testing and direct customer feedback,” said John McNulty, vice president Global Engineering & Technology at Weir. “We’ve created a configurable solution that can be tailored to meet the evolving demands of mining customers, without compromising on performance or reliability.”
