gold dredge suction pump

Viewing a thread - trash pump vs semi trash pump (tile work)

    Riverbottom30

Central IL Needing a trash pump. Mainly be used for tile hook ins and repairs. Do we need a full trash pump or would a semi do. There's a huge price difference. Mainly be mud clods and a bit of crop residue that would going through the pump. What size do you guys find works best for this kind of work. I was thinking a 2" would be fine that's what we've used in the past.

East central Indiana We have 4 of the 2 inch chinese pumps from some place like harbor freight. The work fine till they break. Then trash them. I also have a good 3 inch and 4 inch trash pump. Both came from rental close outs. Both run great and work great. I'd look for sunbelt auctions and go buy pumps there. By the way. We dont pump unless we have to. How often do you think you need one. If theres a reason to pump either its a major urgent repair or its a really bad outlet were working with. If your needing one all the time. Id find another site to work on for a few days. Been there done it. Its no fun wether its november or july

Central IL Don't plan on making a habit out if it but there are just times you need to pump. Like hooking into a main that's running quite a bit or something like that. Got a bit to put in that has shed downspouts to hook in and they have already hooked on to gutters and left tile in open trench. Well it rained so everything is full of water and there's a semi loading dock with a drain and it's sitting full too. Guess we didn't get there soon enough. And we are starting Monday so waiting for an auction is out of the picture. Think I will just try to find a Honda 2".

NW iowa I pump manure about 100 feet and up hill 7 feet. I had a 2 in line and that was so slow. Rented a whacker 3 in pump and that pumped like champ but they are around a grand and I would have purchased it until I bought a brand new Chinese made brand semi trash off eBay for $400 and it was a 4 in pump. I figured it would be faster yet. It was not . Well 3 years later I still have it and it still works but very worn. I do wish I had the whacker it is a quality product
