Currently using a Fuller tanker with a displacement pump, to both spread in field, and move slurry from various sites to central above ground steel lagoon during closed periods. Both pump and tanker has seen better days, and looking to replace it. Question is will a vacuum tank do the same job, especially the emptying in to lagoon, or do I need a displacement tanker again, or a tanker with two pumps (vacuum and centrifugal)? Recommended makes would be helpful. TIA

Hi Radar, I would recommend sticking with a pump tanker - more efficient, and if you are pumping into an above ground tank way superior to a vacuum pump. What sort of capacity tank are you looking at ? If you want to chat about it drop me a message.

Yes thank you- will do next week. Present tanker is 2000gal on a tandem axle. Would prefer this as I empty tank onto oilseed rape in the spring as soon as it is dry enough to travel, using the tramlines and splitting them to 12mtrs. Some years the rape is beginning to extend and I don't want to damage the rape excessively by running it down with flotation tyres on single axle. Open minded though if alternative is better! Talk this through soon.
