The user experienced a coolant leak in their Corsa 1.2 SXI. A plastic part on the water pump had snapped off, leading to an oil leak. After a water pump replacement and coolant refill costing £193, the overheating light came back on, indicating another leak from the new water pump. The oil leak also reappeared.
The user cleaned the area, poured in coolant, and ran the car, observing a leak and steam. After cooling, they unclipped and unbolted the leaking part, cleaned it, and reattached it. After refilling the coolant and running the car, the leak seemed to stop.
The car has just over 86k miles and was serviced 14 months ago. The user noted no moisture from the exhaust, no visible smoke, and a normal-looking oil filter cap and dipstick.
A respondent suggested the leak might be from a water temperature sensor and that the old sealing washers might have been reused. They also noted the oil looked dirty and could use an oil change.
