In August 2019, a Malaysian customer came to Ocean Pump to inspect the sand dredging pump and put forward the following construction requirements.
Pumping sand from the sea requires pumping more than 5,000m3 of sand every day and working 10 hours a day.
High-efficiency sand dredging pumps are required for long-distance transportation, and the discharge distance exceeds 6000m.
There is no high voltage electricity at the construction site.
The conveying distance is about 315m.
Based on the on-site pictures, videos and working condition information provided by the customer, combined with previous sand pump selection experience, Ocean Pump engineers recommended a combination plan of sand pumping by sand dredgers and sand delivery by booster sand pumps. The following is the specific content and configuration of the program:
350PNS-35 high-efficiency sand dredging pump is the main sand dredger on the sand dredger. It is driven by a 540-horsepower diesel engine and equipped with a 400-type 1.5:1 gearbox. A 56kw diesel engine is used to drive the IS150-125-400 high-pressure water pump. The high-pressure water impacts the sand layer to extract high-concentration sediment. The sand output of each high-efficiency sand pump is about 300m3/h.
In order to facilitate the installation and maintenance of sand pumping equipment, the two booster sand pumps are both 350PNS-35, which is the same as the sand pump on the sand pumping ship. The two booster sand pumps are equipped with a 540-horsepower diesel engine and a Type 400 1.5:1 gearbox.
Use three high-efficiency sand pumps to operate in series on a sand transportation pipeline to achieve high-concentration, 6000m long-distance transportation.
The suction pipe connected to the water inlet of the high-efficiency sand dredging pump on the sand dredger is a 350mm hose. The water pipe is made of HDPE material. The seamless steel pipe is used to connect the booster sand pump. It is easy to operate, has low resistance and has strong wear resistance.

After several rounds of communication and discussion, the customer was finally satisfied with our selection plan and decided to purchase a sand dredger and booster sand pump for its two sand conveying lines. During the contract signing process, the customer emphasized the importance of timely delivery.
Since we always have sand pumps and accessories in stock, the main task is to complete the welding of the hull. The technical team at the OCEAN Pump workshop efficiently completed all necessary preparations within a month, ensuring that the goods were packed and ready for shipment within the agreed delivery period.
