Cutter Suction Dredges

Cutter suction dredges are equipped with a rotating cutter head that excavates seabed material and, through a series of pipes and pumps, transports material to in-water or upland discharge locations. The GLDD cutter fleet is designed to excavate and pump a wide range of materials, including highly consolidated sand, clay, and rock. The dredges are certified to work in offshore, near shore, or inland waterways and borrow sites. These dredges execute a wide range of projects including capital port improvements, navigation channel improvements and maintenance, beach nourishment, and coastal restoration works.
