Remember, these pumps are designed to never run dry to maintain their integrity and longevity. Using a Petrol Centrifugal Pump indoors or in confined spaces could cause fatal carbon monoxide poisoning. Never use a Petrol Centrifugal Pump in domestic premises, and only use them in other indoor situations if its suitability and the ventilation required have been fully assessed (Mechanical extraction ventilation will almost always be required).
Prioritise your safety by wearing the appropriate protective gear before using the pump. Properly secure the pump, attach the suction hose and strainer, taking care to fully submerge the strainer and ensure it remains unobstructed. Remember, any air leaks in your suction hose compromise the pump's efficiency — never operate without the strainer firmly in place. Connect the discharge hose and carefully direct it toward the designated discharge area. Upon starting the engine, anticipate immediate water movement. Should the pump fail to transfer water effectively, check for air leaks in the suction attachment and ensure that the strainer is fully submerged and clear of blockages. Always stop the engine before adjusting the unit's position, manipulating hoses, or cleaning filters and strainers. Vigilantly monitor the discharge area to prevent hazards and avoid environmental contamination. To preserve the integrity of the pump, especially after handling contaminated water, flush with clean water if possible. Counteract freezing in cold weather by keeping the pump insulated when inactive. Enhance engine longevity and facilitate easier starts by sheltering the machine when not in operation.
