Pumping at 300W, it's a unique experiment for fast water flow. Designed by Sprig Labs in Greece
This is Sprig Labs' first-ever 3D design, brought to life through years of iteration and real-world testing—a DIY centrifugal water pump built for makers who love experimenting with fluid dynamics, hydroponics, or just pushing the limits of what you can do with a 775 DC motor and a 3D printer. Designed with standard 3/4" barb threads on both inlet and outlet, this pump is easy to integrate into a wide range of setups. It features six mounting holes for solid anchoring and is powered by any 12–36V DC source, giving you flexibility for different applications. While it's not meant to replace commercial-grade pumps, it delivers impressive performance for a DIY build.
This project started as a personal challenge at Sprig Labs—a hands-on way to learn mechanical design, explore 3D printing, and understand fluid mechanics. Over time, it evolved into a robust and fun-to-assemble pump that showcases how accessible innovation can empower makers and educators alike. We wanted to share something practical and engaging—an open-ended platform for experimentation, not just another off-the-shelf part.
Years in the making – The result of multiple design iterations and lessons learned DIY-friendly – Assembles easily, perfect for hands-on learning Standard Fittings – 3/4" barb thread compatibility Versatile Power – Runs on 12–36V (tested at 90W on 20V battery) Real Performance – Achieves ~3m head pressure & 20 l/min flow at 90W Challenging but fun – Great for hydroponics, test rigs, or water circulation Ships Assembled – Includes only the printed pump (no motor, barbs, or hose due to shipping constraints)
Like many hobby pumps, expect a small leak at the shaft during operation. It’s all part of the DIY experience!
Bring your water-based experiments to life with this maker-focused pump project from Sprig Labs—designed to be built, tweaked, and improved by you.
