Compliant with the same standards as any other modern maintenance hole cover—only stronger, more hard-wearing, and with the look of natural stone.
Our contemporary take on a sump hole cover. Made from recycled materials and natural aggregates, and proven to help combat urban warming in cities, our reinforced stone storm drain grates aren’t only more sustainable than cast iron catch basin covers, but can be customised to complement any urban design project.

A sump cover is designed to cover and protect access points to drainage sumps, which collect and filter water before it enters the drainage system.Trench grates, on the other hand, are used to cover linear drainage channels, allowing water to flow through while maintaining a flat surface for pedestrian or vehicle traffic. While sump covers offer full coverage and prevent debris from entering the sump, trench grates provide continuous surface drainage.
Jonite sump covers can be used as replacements for trench grates in specific scenarios where full coverage of a sump area is required for safety or aesthetic reasons. However, they are not recommended for continuous drainage applications, as trench grates are specifically designed to allow continuous water flow. It’s best to consult with our design team to determine the most suitable product for your specific needs.
All our catch basin covers come in a choice of standard styles, colours and textures. Plus, you can customise our commercial sump covers further and collaborate with us to create something totally bespoke.
Yes, you can. Similarly to our trench grates, our sump covers can go up to D400 (500KN) load class, so can withstand heavy vehicle traffic. Plus, all our sump covers are available in a range of designs and colours.
The matte finish of our sump hole covers means they are naturally non-slip. We’ve conducted Pendulum and Ramp tests on all our sump covers to make sure they meet industry standards for slip resistance. With a class V on the Pendulum test and an R10 on the Ramp test, our modern sewer covers can handle most locations and applications.
We’re committed to building better places for people and our planet. We manage our energy, water, and waste with the future in mind. We also use at least 30% recycled aggregates in our stone grating products, which reduces carbon emissions by up to 80%. All our decorative grating is Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) certified (4 ticks, leader). This means when you choose our sump covers, you can score additional points under the Functional Systems Criteria (Flooring, Ceiling, Roof, External Wall, Internal Wall and Door systems) and/or Singular Sustainable Products outside of Functional Systems Criteria.
Jonite sump covers are made from a unique engineered stone composite that’s more durable than traditional metal alternatives. Unlike steel or cast iron, the stone in our sump covers is non-corrosive, lighter in weight, and retains its appearance over time without rusting or chipping.Plus, it’s flexible enough to be used to create custom sump cover designs.
Jonite sump covers can help mitigate urban warming by reducing surface heat absorption. The engineered stone composite used to create our decorating grating reflects more heat than traditional materials like asphalt or concrete, helping to keep surrounding areas cooler.
Our heavy-duty sump covers are engineered to handle both pedestrian and light vehicular traffic. This means they are suitable for driveways, open channels and kerbside drainage.
Jonite sump covers are highly resistant to rust and corrosion. Unlike steel or cast iron, Jonite’s engineered stone composite does not corrode when exposed to moisture, pool chemicals, or environmental elements.
Currently, Jonite only accepts wire transfers for all sales of goods. To find out more about payment arrangements or for assistance with the transfer process, please contact our sales team.

All our grating products are designed for easy maintenance. We recommend regularly cleaning with mild soap and water to remove dirt and debris while avoiding harsh chemicals that could damage the composite surface. Periodic inspections to check for buildup in drainage openings will help maintain optimal performance. For more detailed maintenance instructions, please consult our maintenance guide.
We do not recommend cutting Jonite grates, as this may compromise the internal reinforcements. However, certain pieces, such as blank-ends and grate-tiles, are specifically designed to be cut to fit odd ends and angles. For the best results, we recommend consulting with a professional installer.
We empower architects, landscape designers, and developers to build better places. Places that don’t just enrich everyday lives, but are part of them; built with people and the planet in mind, from the ground up.
