Can You Mix Vape Juice Flavours? Flavour Pairing Tips

Can I Mix My Vape Liquids?

You can absolutely combine different e-liquid flavours together to create new and exciting flavours. The decision of which flavours pair well together is highly subjective, but there are combinations that are more likely to work than others - fruit flavours pair well together for example, but combinations like blood orange and tobacco are less likely to taste very nice. For the best chance of successfully combining different e-liquids together for flavour, we recommend sticking to e-liquids of the same nicotine type and strength, as well as the same PG/VG ratio. Doing so will help avoid unexpected and potentially unpleasant results.

Why Mix Vape Juice Flavours: What Are The Advantages?

There are plenty of reasons you might want to try combining different 10ml vape flavours, but the most common are: To create a flavour not currently available from your chosen brand. To combine two or more of your current favourite flavours into something new. To add a hint of menthol or cooling to other flavours that do not have a ready-made "ice" variant. To tone down a flavour you enjoy but find a little too strong, by adding flavourless e-liquid. In certain cases, vapers may combine a higher and lower nicotine strength e-liquid of the same flavour to achieve a strength not currently available - we do not recommend this, as the results can be inconsistent without accurate measuring tools. Experimentation doesn't have to break the bank either. By shopping at LiQuid's online vape store, you can try combining lots of different flavours for only £1 per 10ml bottle if opting for our original range of 50/50 freebase vape juice, or £2 per 10ml of our Bar Salts range if you want to experiment with nic salt flavour combinations. Our £1 Original Freebase E-Liquid range is where it all began. Made in the UK and available in a wide variety of flavours and nicotine strengths, these 10ml bottles are perfect for everyday vaping. Whether you prefer fruity, menthol, tobacco or sweet blends, our freebase e-liquids deliver reliable flavour and a satisfying throat hit...all for just £1.

How to Mix Vape Juice Flavours Properly

    • Always mix in a clean bottle (like the one above) • Do not mix e-liquids with different nicotine strengths • Do not mix e-liquids with different PG/VG ratios • Once combined, shake well and allow to rest for at least 10 minutes • If unsure, start with smaller batches to save vape juice When mixing e-liquid flavours together, you’ll ideally want to ensure that you are using a clean bottle. Wherever possible, try to wear protective gloves or keep paper towels to hand to clean up any spills. We advise keeping to the exact same PG/VG ratios. If you choose to mix different ratio e-liquids, for example high VG with 50/50, there's a likelihood your coil won't be equipped properly to handle unpredictable mixes. You run the risk of the liquid being too thick for a low-wattage device or too thin and burning out your coil in a high-wattage device. Similarly, with nicotine concentrations, it's difficult to find an exact measurement when mixing products with two different strengths. Without the proper measuring equipment, you may end up with a strength too low to effectively manage your cravings, or a strength that is too high to comfortably vape.

    Most Popular Flavour Combos

With flavour preference being so subjective, there are potentially limitless combinations to experiment with and enjoy. With that said, a combination of our own testing, customer feedback and items most frequently bought together tells us that some of the most popular flavour combinations include: Blackcurrant&Raspberry e-liquid, Menthol&Cherry e-liquid and Tobacco&Vanilla e-liquid. We explore these combinations and more below:

    Fruity Favourites

Blackcurrant&Raspberry e-liquid is the most popular amongst our customers. Often purchased together, these two iconic fruit flavours pair well because of their similarly sweet and tangy profiles. Forest Fruits&Raspberry e-liquid is another popular fruit combination, with bright and tangy raspberry complementing the dark berry taste of forest fruits.

    Summer Blends

Strawberry&Peache-liquid offers a smooth vaping experience, great for all-day vaping. Although a summer favourite, we’d suggest trying this mix year-round for a reminder of better weather. Mango&Pineapplee-liquid is a key example of tropical fruits that mix well. If you prefer a cool hit similar to menthol, you could consider using Mango Ice e-liquid.

    Menthol Twists

Menthol&Juicy Apple e-liquid adds a cooling sensation to a popular flavour. Many of our fruit ice options are popular, making this mix a safe bet if you’ve tried any of these vape liquids before. Menthol&Very Berry e-liquid merges a popular flavour with a satisfying cooling hit. It would be ideal for people who enjoy menthol, but still want some extra flavour and a less intense cooling sensation.

    Sweet and Smooth

Banoffee Pie&Vanilla e-liquid offers a rich flavour pairing, with a creamy and smooth finish. Although one for sweeter tastes, it’s certainly worth recommending in the sweet category. Strawberry Cheesecake&Vanilla Custard e-liquid is a great mix for any vapers with a craving for desserts. Despite being a dessert-style vape, the mix is great as a one-off, or all day vape.

    Vape Flavour Mixing Best Practice

You should stick to the same nicotine concentrations when mixing. Although mixing 3mg and 6mg e-liquids can create approximately a 4.5mg e-liquid for example, there is no guarantee of exact measurements when mixing by eye. This is even more important for different nicotine types. Mixing freebase and salt nicotine e-liquids together is a bad idea as the two nicotine types work differently in your body and will not pair well. We also suggest that you don’t mix more than 3 e-liquids at once. Although you’re welcome to try, flavour results are more likely to come out muddled. Sooner or later, combining more and more flavours into one mixture often just leads to an undefined blur of different profiles that cancel each other out and clash. You can mix any e-liquid flavours – but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should. When mixing, consider what flavour profiles you’re using. If it’s your first time combining any e-liquids, a good rule of thumb is to use liquids from the same flavour category. Liquids from the desserts, fruity and sweet selections may work well together, but might not taste good with the tobaccoor menthol selections, for example.

    Common Vape Liquid Mixing Mistakes

When mixing e-liquids, avoid doing the following: • Mixing clashing flavour profiles such as menthol and desserts • Combining too many profiles at once – while 2 is best practice, 3 is possible, but any more than 3 e-liquids is quite risky • Don’t use leftover vape juice from the tank • Don’t mix anything outside of e-liquids inside of your tank – adding water is extremely dangerous Although we encourage creativity and imaginative mixing, do keep in mind that some blends were simply not made for each other. There is no risk to mixing poorly matching e-liquid taste profiles when done correctly – other than some offense to your taste buds. To start, try mixtures that are more likely to work together, such as similar flavour profiles and categories. Once you become more familiar with the process, consider pushing the boundaries more.

    Bad Flavour Profiles

Over the years, our flavour experts have tried many weird and wonderful blends. For the purpose of guidance and a touch of humour, here are some examples of e-liquid pairings that didn't quite work: Blueberry&Caffe Latte e-liquid was unfortunately a miss, although some sweetness is appropriate in coffee flavours, such as our Mocha Choca Latte e-liquid, this one wasn’t quite it. Spearmint&Blood Orange e-liquid was quickly noted as not being favourable across testing. The clash of mint and strong citrus made for a tickly concoction that was not very smooth on the inhale. British Tobacco&Banoffee Pie e-liquid – I’m not quite sure what we were thinking.
