Elux Legend 10ml Nic Salts Review - 20 Flavours!

What Can We Expect From the Elux Legend 10ml Nic Salts Range?

Elux have a humongous range of flavours to pick from, ranging from fruits, sweets, drinks, mint, dessert and menthol profiles. In fact only Elf Bar have anything near as extensive a range when it comes to disposable vapes. So I should imagine it didn’t take them too long to pick out the 12 most popular flavours. Expect to find them with the Elux Legend 10ml nic salts range. They’re currently confined to 10ml bottle sizes but I’m sure given time they’ll appear in larger short fills as is the case with Imp Jar, for example. Regardless, 10ml bottles are still a more cost effective way of emulating the disposable vape experience, marginally better for the environment and certainly a reason to fire up your pod kit. Salt nicotine is also the best way to go if you’re a newer vaper since it provides a nice smooth inhale and pretty much instantly staves off the craving for those crap smelling cigarettes. Expect to find the range in either 10mg or 20mg nicotine strength. Good for those used to moderately smoking – even better for the heavier smoker wishing to switch to vaping. The E-liquid ratio is set to 50VG/50PG so all lower powered, starter kits will lap up the flavours on offer. In fact every bottle in the range is tailor made for a MTL vaping experience. Keep in mind that many an experienced vaper still prefers this style of vaping. Expect a win – win situation from the Elux Legend 10ml nic salts range. The only niggle will be if the flavours can hold up to their disposable reputation. So let’s find out, shall we?

    Specifications

10ml nicotine salt E-liquid, 10mg / 20mg strength, 50VG/50PG, TPD compliant, Designed for MTL vaping, Made in the UK, Child proof cap, Tamper evident seal, Recyclable bottle

Any ideas as to what device I’m going to be using? Surprise, surprise it’s the Voopoo Doric Q MTL pod kit as previously mentioned. I’m using the 1.0hm ITO pod and running at a steady 12W. Please keep in mind the experience may alter from device to device. Some are better at delivering flavour and vapour production than others. So if you know your device, you should know what to expect.

    Triple Melon

There’s three different types of melon flavouring here, each of which impart a different note to this e-liquid. Of course, there’s watermelon, which imparts a juicy note. This is a bit of a candied watermelon flavour rather than an artificial tasting one. You also have cantaloupe, which imparts a bitterness to the experience. Finally there is the classic honeydew melon flavour, which brings sweetness to it. So you have juiciness, sweetness and bitterness all in one e-liquid! Overall, I just found it a but odd, the blend just seemed to be a bit off and it didn’t feel like the watermelon flavouring blended in well with the honeydew and cantaloupe.

    Grape

Grape flavouring is a hard one to nail down properly, as it can taste pretty nasty and artificial if there’s too much flavouring used. Too little, and it just tastes very weak. There’s a thick black grape flavour all the way through this, that tastes pretty darn authentic, but unfortunately, I just detect a slight hint of artificial-ness right at the end which kind of ruins the whole experience for me. Maybe a touch of koolada would help level it out a little? So close, ELUX almost nail it here!

    Pineapple Ice

If you like your pineapple e-liquids absolutely chock full of flavouring, then look no further than this one! You’ve got an e-liquid that is absolutely bursting with authentic pineapple flavour, and it’s very juicy indeed. So much so that it makes my mouth water! The aftertaste lingers long on my palate after this, even the icy note isn’t enough to get rid of the pineapple flavouring. You’ve also got sharp and sweet notes to this too thanks to the pineapple, and that cooling chill at the end just mixes in with the pineapple perfectly. This might be a little too intense for some people but definitely not for me, the more pineapple the better!

    Summer Dream

Strawberry, peach and pineapple are three of my favourite flavours so I was very pleased to find them in this e-liquid. And I’m also pleased to say that I could easily detect all three of these flavours within this e-liquid, and they are delicious, authentic tasting versions of them too. On the inhale I get a strawberry and peach blend, the sweetness of the strawberry combining beautifully with the juicy peach, before that tangy pineapple comes in and rounds it all off. This is definitely a tasty summer vape that is for sure!

    Cherry Sour Raspberry

Now there’s a very bold and strong tasting cherry flavour from the get go! And that kind of sets the tone for this e-liquid, as the most predominant flavour is the dark cherry, with the raspberry flavouring more of an undertone. The bold cherry does mix pretty well with the sour and sweet raspberry notes, but I would have liked just a bit more out of the raspberry!

    Straight Tobacco

Oooh a tobacco flavour? Don’t mind if I do, I’m very partial to one! I felt that rather than a rolling tobacco style flavour, this was more along the lines of a pipe tobacco which is what most straight up tobacco e-liquids tend to taste like. You get a rich, woody and earthy vape here that is a totally different experience to smoking a cigarette, and a little sweet note at the end. It’s much nicer tasting for starters! There’s also some throat hit here, which you won’t normally find present in nicotine salt based e-liquids. This one could actually be a good introduction to tobacco e-liquids for anyone that is curious about trying one, or perhaps for someone that is making the switch over from cigarettes to vaping.

    Blackcurrant Menthol

In my early days of vaping, I was on a quest to find a blackcurrant flavour that tasted close to Ribena, which was my favourite childhood drink! Back then, the market was awash with blackcurrant flavours but these were all horrible and artificial tasting, before I finally stuck gold thanks to a vendor on a certain UK based vaping forum. Now this one really does take me back, not to those days of vaping harsh artificial blackcurrant, but to when I struck gold with a blackcurrant vape! This really does remind me of Ribena, it is awash with delicious, authentic tasting blackcurrant flavouring that is very punchy and features a thick mouthfeel. The chilly menthol is a really nice touch at the end of this and makes it taste like a cold glass of blackcurrant squash. Great stuff ELUX!

    Vanilla Tobacco

The fact that there are two tobacco flavours here makes this tobacco e-liquid fan very happy indeed! On the inhale I can detect the vanilla blending in with the tobacco, before the woody and earthy tobacco note takes over, but gives way again at the end to a really smooth vanilla flavour that takes a slight edge off of the tobacco. I don’t know if it was the mention of floral in the description, but I couldn’t help but think there was a bit of a floral background note, which actually blends in quite nicely with the vanilla and tobacco flavour notes. Even at 10mg nicotine salt strength there’s still a decent bit of throat hit here with a good long inhale, which I do enjoy! This is a very smooth and tasty tobacco vape. I really did enjoy this one!

    Blueberry Cherry Cranberry

The Koolada definitely hits hard with this one. I can instantly feel it on the inhale, building up as it unleashes its full potential on the way out. The Blueberry is the driving force behind this fruity mix, which has something of a chalky quality. So there’s something of a sweet like vibe going on here. The Cherry content has been toned down and is more accessible through its sweetness than anything else. I’d say the Cranberry is only represented by a thin layer of sourness during the exhale but is still quite effective nonetheless. Yes, it’s quite a pleasant fruity mix, this one and the sweetness levels are bob on. That icy content is a bit of a brain freezer, though!

    Fizzy Cherry

This is very pleasant. We’re not getting a natural tasting Cherry but that’s to be expected from an E-liquid simulating the flavour of a disposable vape. The sherbet like effect is also present although it doesn’t quite have the same fizz intensity as other disposables I’ve sampled. But you can expect bucket loads of sweetie like taste during the exhale. Left alone, without any distraction of other fruits the Cherry is really able to shine. It still carries a sweet, tartness. That sherbet gets wrapped up in the frosty explosion created by Koolada and works in perfect harmony alongside it. Fizzy Cherry may not have the level of fizziness I was expecting but it does enough to promote it into the category of a drinks based E-liquid profile.

    Gummy Bear

A very refreshing mix! I don’t know if it’s just me but I always get the same two or three flavour notes from a Gummy Bear vape. Most significantly is the Orange which in this case is very bright, very lively. Ok it’s not exactly bursting with authenticity but for an E-liquid replicating the taste from a disposable it more than succeeds. There’s some delicate hints of Lemon and Lime thrown in here too. The citric qualities are in abundance. Definitely a mix of sweet and sour spilling from these chosen fruits and the overall blending is extremely effective, in my opinion. The chilling effect created during inhale is also highly welcome as it pulls out the best of this scintillating fusion of fruits. Does it represent a gummy style sweet though? Nah – the iciness of the vape nips it in the bud. That doesn’t stop it from being a damn fine accompaniment as a Summer vape!

    Kiwi Passionfruit Guava

Well it’s coming up to the right time of the year with this tasty, exotic E-liquid! If you’re reading this review in order, let me tell you that Kiwi Passionfruit Guava is the most flavour intensive yet. It all starts with an icy cold blast that’s quickly backed with a snap of sweetness prior to the exhale. What happens next is a tropical delight of extreme magnitude. The flavour concentration perfectly represents that of a disposable vape. The Passionfruit puts me in mind of Grapefruit with added sweetness while the Kiwi rides on its vape tails half way through the exhale. There’s an authentic muskiness to the vape and everything just seems to fall together the way it should. However, it does come with a caveat. You’re going to have to like that cooling agent because it will sting the throat and hang around long after the after taste.

    Menthol

Yeah, this is definitely you’re standard Menthol affair. The sharp, bitter taste on inhale betrays its nature over the usual icy cold blast. And what a refreshing change it makes. Quite literally. You can’t go wrong with a quality Menthol vape – it works wonders at cleansing the palate and resetting those taste receptors. It’s a very intense Menthol too. It will hit hard and the Peppermint flavour keeps the vape snappy, vibrant and interesting throughout. The overall taste travels well throughout the duration of the exhale and that Menthol cuts deep into the lining of the throat. Just as any self-respecting Menthol worthy of its salt (or sweetness in this case!) should do! I love it. This is your classic all day vape. When done right it’s hard to put down. I’m having trouble moving on from this one!

    Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum

It just so happens I’m half way through a disposable vape with the very same line up of flavours. So let’s see how the two compare and who I feel comes out on top. Elux wins in terms of the fruit content. The reason is twofold. I actually think the overall flavour experience is more intense, yet much cleaner. The frostiness of the vape is definitely more cutting. It’s also a lot tastier, with the Strawberry and Watermelon both jostling for attention. If I had to pick I’d say Watermelon pips it to the post. The disposable wins when it comes to Bubblegum content. It doesn’t translate so well with the Elux E-liquid version and that’s due to a lack of texture on the exhale. I can take it or leave it when it comes to Bubblegum anyway so Elux still comes out as the winner, today. Before I close this one I should say that you’re still getting generic, artificial tasting fruits. Not really an issue for the new or casual vaper though, is it?

    Tiger Blood

Let’s get this out of the way from the get go. There’s nothing mysterious about the taste of Tiger Blood. It’s another Irn Bru clone. It’s given away by an aroma that overwhelms the minute the cap is unscrewed. Yes, the ingredients remain a mystery but there’s no questioning the flavour quality of this one. It’s literally bursting with taste – just how it should from this popular Scottish energy drink profile. It’s sharp and acidic with the Koolada really lifting the vaping experience to another level. Whereas the Bubblegum was sorely missing in Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum it’s here in spades – again, just how it should be. It fuses well with a few delicate hints of Ginger and Spice creating a highly refreshing taste experience. I know it’s quite hard to get this one wrong and there have been countless versions over the years. Yet I never tire of a decent Irn Bru vape. That’s exactly what Elux have given us here.

    Triple Mango

Not quite a gust of refreshing ice but more like a breeze. That’s just the way I prefer it with Mango vapes. The brain freeze of Blueberry Cherry Cranberry has been removed from Triple Mango and is much more complementary. It allows me to get the full effect from this juicy fruit. Many people refer to the taste and aroma of Mango as being very much like pee – pee. I beg to differ with this version. Sure it carries a slight aroma when unscrewing the cap but nowhere in the same league as pee – pee. There’s probably a little too much sweetness if I’m being honest. Whether that’s part of the ‘triple Mango’ effect, I’m not sure. It’s another standalone flavour profile. They either work for me or don’t. In this case, Elux have provided us with a natural enough tasting Mango and one that delivers its fruity goodness with every vape. Job done, I’d say.

    Blueberry Raspberry

This one is very sweet and very sour, both at the same time. The cooling Menthol does a good job at soothing the throat and leaves it mark on the lips alongside the sugary content. But there’s something definitely off about the mixture of fruits on offer. The Blueberry leaves a very strong Ammonia like after taste, lingering on the palate in a very off putting way. We all know what Ammonia smells like so that should give an indication of what I’m experiencing. It’s not a unique experience, either. I’ve found this often the case when mixing Blueberry with other dark fruits. Here, the Raspberry struggles to make an appearance because of an over use of Sweetener. Blueberry Raspberry most definitely emulates the flavour experience of a disposable vape but I’m afraid it’s one I just can’t stomach.

    Lemon & Lime

This one hits the spot for its refreshing nature. And it’s a flavour you just know benefits from the addition of Koolada. It really helps to bring out all those citric, sharp notes of the Lemon. The mixture of the two fruits is such that I actually get a slight throat hit during inhale. I’m up for some of that as it acts as a precursor to some really mouth watering taste. The Lime is matched perfectly with the Lemon, neither seems to be jostling for attention. As a result Lemon & Lime is ideal as a thirst quencher for the Summer months. Yes, there’s still plenty of sweetness thrown into the mix but the zesty notes do enough to counteract things. So there’s nothing sickly sweet about it. A nice, uplifting vape and one that’s very moreish. I’m off to vape some more.

    Mr Blue

This one gets sweeter the longer you inhale. Yet it doesn’t seem to matter that much whether short or long MTL tugs are pulled – it’s heavy on the sweetener. There’s a definite chalkiness to the exhale, so I’m instantly reminded of candy sweets. But there’s also a characteristic juiciness on the way out – and I like that. Probably more than the fruits on offer to be honest. They just seem to be a bit of a mish mash. It’s like mulching all the juice from a fruits into a bowl then downing them in one go. I can’t really make out what’s leading the way here. The chalkiness and sweetness are the over riding taste. I’m not getting any of the Blackberries but I can pick out Raspberry and a modicum of Blueberry. Mr Blue is an odd one. There’s plenty enough flavour but I’m just left wondering what exactly is going on here. There’s not much to get excited about, to be honest.

    Watermelon Ice

Wow! This one’s flavour intensive. If ever there was an E-liquid to replicate the taste of a disposable vape, Watermelon Ice is it! That much is noticeable from the very first inhale. The mix of fruit and Ice creates almost a roughness on the back of the throat. The exhale is ram packed full of Watermelon – of course that’s no surprise but the intensity of the flavour certainly is. It’s hard hitting, put it that way. I’d have to say it’s actually over whelming and for that reason alone, I’m not the biggest fan. To be fair, the taste of Watermelon isn’t the underlying issue. I think that lies with the over use of sweetener (it’s becoming a predictable statement, isn’t it. lol ). Reduce that and we get something that’s not as sickly to vape. Just also be aware that the Watermelon isn’t offering anything that we haven’t already vaped. It’s the usual generic version. But if you like Watermelon vapes with a strong sweet after taste, give it a go by all means.

    Final Review Verdict

Elux have done a sterling job at replicating the flavours of a disposable vape. As you will have read, even better in the case of Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum. I’m still having trouble resisting Menthol. Another one that trumps the taste of a disposable vape, in my opinion. So overall the flavours were great. Of course they’re going to be artificial tasting. They’re not exactly designed with the vaping connoisseur in mind. Even where flavour mixing was involved I feel Elux succeeded. The blending was on par and so were the sweetness levels. For me, that’s another area where Elux have succeeded and maybe disposable vape manufacturers could take heed. Admittedly I’m not into excessively icy vapes and that’s maybe where I found the range to be a bit hit and miss. However, that’s personal preference of course. Many folks are addicted to a stronger, frosty inhale. Overall I’m very impressed with this range. Great flavour consistency throughout and not one of them was overly concentrated. Just another reason why I believe the Elux Legend 10ml nic salts range is better than your average disposable vape.
