Hi I’m Marnie and I’ve been vaping for about 5 years. I bought a Crystal Blast Elf Bar yesterday and opened it tonight. It was dead which was weird because they always come charged. So I plugged it in and set it on my bed. I went to bed about 1/2 hour later and unplugged to taste. It tasted like vomit. For some dumb reason I plugged it back in then 5 minutes later it exploded and started smoking really bad. It burnt a 6 inch deep hole in our new mattress. Which was on fire. My husband poured water in the hole until it went out. Who do I report this to? Or do I just return it. It smells horrible in here. It’s 30° and we have a fan in the window. So thankful we were right here when it happened. Thanks.
Welcome to ecf. I'd return it.
Welcome to ECF, Marnie. I'm glad neither of you were hurt. It may help to return it or take it back, depends where you got it I guess. You could try the manufacturer themselves.
Thank you!
Welcome to ECF It's a good thing that you're ok and only the mattress was damaged a little. Disposable Vapes shouldn't exist.
Welcome to ECF. Might I recommend a non-disposable product with better QC?
Hi and welcome to ECF. Sorry to hear about your mod trashing your mattress.
Hi Marnie. Welcome to the ECF. Sorry to hear about what happened. But Glad that it wasn't Worse. Just an FYI... ELFBAR products are one of the Most Bootleg, Knockoff-ed, Counterfeited products in the e-Cigarette market. And Many State Attorney Generals believe that the Majority of ELFBAR products are not Made or Distributed by any one company. A Dependable Reusable Mod and Tank from a Major Name Brand isn't really that expensive. And as a tool to help someone Quit Smoking, they can be Priceless.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Hello, So glad that no one was injured and that the fire was promptly extinguished. Thank you for sharing your story with us, it may just save someone else from experiencing the same.
I keep hearing BAD stuff about the Elf Bar brand, besides which disposables just are not the best vape products IMO. Open systems are the way forward, and I hope they don't get wiped out by the flood of trashy disposables in the market. I know, rough talk. However, I would point out that you should never recharge anything on your bed. It sinks into the soft surface, which keeps air from circulating around the device, and it gets too hot. People have started fires with their phones and laptops by re-charging on the bed.
