We recommend consulting the usage labels on the back label of our products to determine how much powder or gel detergent to put in your dishwasher. However, there are times it may be necessary to use more or less depending on your home’s water hardness. Or try Cascade Platinum Plus ActionPacs™ which provide the perfect premeasured dose in one easy pac.
Undissolved detergent can be caused by low water temperature, improper storage of detergent, or old detergent; or your dishwasher’s detergent chamber being blocked by an obstruction like a large or overhanging utensil or dish. Before adding detergent, check to make sure the chamber isn’t wet, as this can cause sticking. Consider trying Cascade Platinum Plus ActionPacs™ which are designed to dissolve quickly right from the start of a wash cycle.
Load detergent just prior to starting dishwasher cycle. Be sure water temperature is no lower than 120ºF. Run the faucet closest to the dishwasher to clear water lines of cooler water before starting dishwasher. Check loading pattern to be sure the dispenser cup and spray arms are not blocked by large items, handles, etc. Run the dishwasher when other household demands for water are low (high demand includes bathing or laundering). This ensures sufficient water pressure. Check dishwasher usage instructions for additional tips on checking proper water fill pressure. Always store detergent in a cool, dry place and use within a few months of purchase. Although dishwasher detergent does not have a technical expiration date, it loses effectiveness over time or if improperly stored Check to see that your dishwasher’s spray arms are able to rotate freely. Check that holes (nozzles) in the spray arms are not clogged or impaired. Perform a second wash with no items in the dishwasher and no detergent to remove any un-dissolved detergent.
Film or spots on your glassware can be a frustrating sight, and removing wet dishes after a complete cycle can leave you feeling like the job isn’t quite done. Luckily, all Cascade dishwashing products are formulated with built-in rinse aid action. And if you want additional protection, there’s Cascade Power Dry Rinse Aid. Just add it to your dishwasher’s rinse-aid dispenser and it’s automatically released into the rinse cycle. Use Cascade Power Dry Rinse Aid to rinse away tiny food particles and residues that can cause spots on dishes and allows water to sheet off dishes to provide better drying. Refill your rinse aid dispenser monthly for best performance.
Our ActionPacs tubs and bags are designed to easily seal and keep out moisture. As with any household cleaning product, store your dishwasher detergent in a secure location, away from small children and pets. Keep detergent in its original container with the label intact.
