0 75kw water pump

Abbey Vacumn tank (pump not building vacumn for spreading)

    Problem Description

The pump fills without issue, but spreading is very slow. The top of the pump was removed and everything appears ok.

    Possible Causes and Solutions

Check for blockages at the rear.

Consider the lever for switching from filling to spreading; it may be disengaged.

Tighten the relief valve on the pump or tanker, setting it just under a bar. Chamfer the last 3/4 inch off the inside of the rubber spreading cone.

Before adjusting relief valves, check the pressure with the gate valve shut.

Verify the pressure gauge is working. If the relief valve isn't blowing off, investigate why before adjusting the valve pressure. Check the slurry trap.

Don't alter the relief valve without a pressure gauge. Check threads on the rear gate valve for wear. Inspect the changeover valve.

Determine the tank model and emptying point location.

    Check the balls.

Clean the siphon box between the tank and pump.

Inspect the vanes to see if they are getting enough oil and are not stuck.

Check the valve cover and valve setting.

See if the handle is slipping on the tapered shaft.

Check if the relief valve on the pump is blowing off in the spread position and at what pressure.

Pull off the top pipe on the pump and run it to suck and blow and see if there is a difference.

    Resolution

The oil wasn't circulating for the pump; it was blocked at the top of the sight glass. Once oil flow was restored, it worked. The vanes were likely sticking due to lack of oil.
