Sump Pump Installation / Repair

    Sump Pumps

Sump pumps can be lifesavers when it comes to keeping your basement from flooding during heavy rains or snowmelt. A sump pump is a submersible electric pump placed in a pit in your basement. During heavy rain, water that might seep into your basement is diverted to the pit and pumped out when it reaches a certain level. Sump pumps are relatively inexpensive solutions that could save you thousands of dollars in damage from a flooded basement.

    Sump Pump Installation

First Class Plumbing provides sump pump installation and repairs sump pumps throughout the greater Baltimore-Washington DC metro area, including Northern Virginia. Depending on the size of your house, we may recommend more than one sump pump.

We do both first-time sump pump installation and sump pump replacement.

How to Test a Sump Pump

If you don’t already know how to test a sump pump, just pour a five-gallon bucket of water into the pit. This should be enough water to raise the float switch, which will activate the sump pump to pump out all the water. If your sump pump isn’t working, call First Class Plumbing for sump pump repair or replacement.

Another good idea is to have a battery backup sump pump or battery power connected to your sump pump, so if the power goes out, your pump has the power it needs to keep on pumping.

    Emergency Plumbing

We offer emergency plumbing service 24/7, 365 days a year. If you have a plumbing emergency, call us for emergency service. Our trucks are fully stocked with all of the necessary tools, parts (including sump pumps) and piping needed to complete any plumbing repairs, drain clearing and more.
