I just bought a 12 volt SEAFLO water pump Series 42 for the sink in my van conversion. I do not have a shower. When I first turned on the pump, it worked fine when I had the sink faucet wide open. The pump also shut off fine (like it should) when I turned the sink faucet off. But when I turned on the faucet water just a little bit, the pump would make a cycling or water surging hammering noise. I said to myself , Oh no, looks like I might need buy and plumb in an accumulator which I have seen on other van builds. But I really don't have room under my sink for an accumulator tank So I searched YouTube and found the below video. The video instructions for adjusting the "bypass valve" worked great for me. No more surging of water at low faucet openings. The SEAFLO people call this surging noise "Cycling" and sounds these newer pumps with bypass valves might reduce or eliminate the need for accumulator tanks. Anyway, the instructions which came with my pump were not much help on the cycling issue as they basically said take the pump to a professional for adjustments. Also, the YouTube video was on a Series 56 pump but the instructions worked fine on my Series 42 pump. I am not an RV water pump expert. Above was just my recent experience. Hope some of this helps
