High Head Submersible Effluent Pumps are used to pump treated effluent or wastewater from an aerobic treatment system to a spray irrigation or sprinkler system, drip irrigation system, mound system, or any other high pressure secondary treatment system. These aerobic system pumps are available in both mid-suction or bottom-suction design from trusted brands such as Franklin Electric and Sta-Rite.
High Head Effluent pumps, also known as turbine pumps or deep water well pumps, are high pressure submersible pumps. These are primarily used in the septic system industry for spray irrigation or drip irrigation systems that dispose of the clean wastewater discharge from an aeration system. These types of high pressure pumps are required to be able to drive sprinkler heads or force the wastewater through underground drip irrigation tubing.
In the Aerobic Septic System industry, High Head Effluent pumps are quite standardized. They typically have flow rates between 10 to 20 gallons per minute and share similar dimensions. At Septic Solutions, we provide two different models in this category, mid-suction and bottom suction.
The Frankin Electric / Little Giant WE Series High Head Effluent Submersible pumps are a middle suction unit. This means the pump intake is in the middle between the motor and the pump unit. The WE is offered in two variations: The WE20G05P4-21 is a 20 Gallon Per Minute unit commonly used for spray irrigation systems. The WE10G05P4-21 is a 10 Gallon Per Minute unit commonly used in underground drip irrigation applications.
The Franklin Electric C1 Series and Sta-Rite Dominator High Head Effluent Submersible pumps are bottom suctions units. This means the intakes of these pumps are on the bottom below the pump and motor. These units are offered in 20 Gallon Per Minute only and are used for spray irrigation applications. These two models are completely interchangeable.
The Pump Saver Filtration Screen will fit almost every High Head Effluent Pump and is designed to protect the pump from clogging due to particles in the pump chamber. These style of submersible pumps are designed to handle clear water only, so this filter can significantly increase the life of your submersible pump.
