Centrifugal force action mechanism: Slurry pumps and gravel pumps are both classified into the family of centrifugal pumps. Their core working principle is to rely on the powerful centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the impeller to promote the flow of the medium. When the impeller rotates rapidly, the liquid (i.e., the slurry) in the pump chamber is driven to rotate with the impeller. Under the strong action of centrifugal force, these liquids are thrown towards the edge of the inner wall of the pump shell. At the same time, the central area of the impeller forms a relatively low pressure area, and this pressure difference causes new liquid to be continuously sucked into the pump, thus creating a continuous and stable delivery process.
Application scope of conveying particulate medium: Both slurry pumps and gravel pumps have the significant characteristics of conveying slurry containing solid particles in functional manner. They play an indispensable role in many fields, such as mining, metallurgical refining, water conservancy construction and construction engineering. These industries have a huge demand for them and have a wide range of application scenarios.
Wear resistance requirements for overflow components: Given that both slurry pumps and gravel pumps need to frequently process media containing solid particles, their overflow components (including but not limited to key components such as impellers and pump housings) must have excellent wear resistance. To achieve this, materials such as high chromium alloys and rubber are usually carefully manufactured with excellent wear resistance. During the long-term contact with and transport of the granular medium, these high-quality wear-resistant materials can effectively resist the erosion and wear caused by solid particles, thereby significantly extending the service life of the pump and ensuring its stable operation under harsh working conditions.
