I ordered this fuel pump for the venture and it is a plug and play OEM pump for a lot less thay Yamaha wants.

Tell us in 6 months if it still works...
I tell you, for that price it is sure worth the try. Please report back.
Even if it doesn't last it's a great price for a temp fix if you get stranded. I think I'll order one to keep on the bike.
Well 6 months doesn't mean anything if the bike sets in the garage. I will have ridden close to 20,000 miles in 6 months is that a good enough test.
Here is even a better price

Yah! I'm with MiCarl!! Cheap insurance! Of course there is always the gravity feed mod that will get you home, I carry a short rubber hose just for that purpose!
But now days with my Carbon_1 auxiliary gas tank, worst case scenario is I manually have to transfer the gas from the main tank into the auxiliary tank...
For what it is worth. I discovered the electrical plugs on the RSV and RSTD are shaped different. The pump is the same.
I use the OEM fuel pumps from E BAY $17.99 & FREE SHIPPING
The one I bought on ebay is still doing well... I have put about 10K miles on it. No issues.
