Hayward Sand Filter Dial Help!?

I finished vacuming the pool, changed the dial to backwash rinse and back to filter as per usual. Today when I awoke 1/3 of the pool drained over night though the backwash hose. It wasn't with much pressure, but a low flow. The filter setting is now not "filtering" but slowly still draining when the pump is on. I have it off for now but not sure how to alleviate this problem?

Possibly the multiport valve gasket. I would take the lid off of the multiport valve, observe the gasket. It probably needs to be replaced.
