By the end of the 1960s, there were 50 professional pump factories and more than 200 other pump manufacturers. The annual output of pumps is 582,400 units, with nearly 1,000 varieties. In order to speed up the development and production of pumps for petroleum, chemical industry and mining, in 1972, the First Ministry of Machinery Industry and the provincial machinery departments once again made large-scale investment in major industrial pump factories, totaling 33.962 million yuan, of which Wuhan Pump Factory invested 10.865 million yuan , Boshan Water Pump Factory invested 6.44 million yuan, Shenyang Water Pump Factory invested 4.51 million yuan, Benxi Water Pump Factory invested 2.237 million yuan, Yangquan Water Pump Factory invested 1.6 million yuan, to Shanghai, Shijiazhuang, Tianjin Industrial Pump Factory, Baoji Water Pump Factory Invest 1 million yuan.
