No injuries were reported after an "accidental" fire damaged two townhomes in Whitehaven early Wednesday morning, according to the Memphis Fire Department (MFD).
The department said firefighters were dispatched around 3:20 a.m. to an apartment fire on Autumn Leaf Drive and found a townhouse with "light smoke" coming from it. The fire was quickly put out and under control within minutes of the firefighters' arrival, MFD said.
FOX13 arrived to active scene with the home engulfed in flames and with several firefighters and vehicles from MFD on scene. The fire department reported no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The fire department said the cause of fire was determined to be accidental, adding that it started in the kitchen. Two units were damaged in the fire, MFD said.
