Selection background

On October 9, 2018, a user in Changde, Hunan called an engineer of Tai’an Ocean Pump and requested a sand pump for river sand pumping. The customer has used the 6 inch sand dredging pump of Tai’an Ocean Pumps before, and he was satisfied with the effect, but the capacity did not meet the current requirements. He hoped to use a large capacity wear resistant sand dredging pump. The use requirements were as follows.

The output was about 100 tons per hour, without head, and the discharge distance was about 100 meters; The water depth was 10 meters, the sand source is relatively clean, and there were few pebbles and garbage; The diesel engine was required, and the belt was connected.

Selection Process

After receiving the customer’s request, the design team of Tai’an Ocean Pump helped the customer to choose a 10 inch sand pump by calculating the ratio. Because the head requirements are not high, the small mini dredger sand pump can meet the operating requirements. The sand pump is matched with an open impeller, which has the advantages of wide flow passage, large suction and high output; the disadvantage is that the impeller has a small outer diameter, low head, and relatively low wear resistance. In addition to the small 10-inch mini dredger sand pump, a spare parts list is also attached to the user to prevent affecting the use period and shorten the waiting time for wearing parts.
