There is a seal in the plate that bolts to the 75 box. It sounds like it's in good order if it's only a leak. The problem was the pump bearing split itself, opened the seal and sucked out all the oil. Replaced them all and the seals in the end up.
The quickest way would be to just pull out the 4 bolts out of the vac pump housing where they go into the 75 box, and pull out the 4 bolts holding the 75 box to the chassis, i pulled it round and removed the 4 bolts on the sludge side. It will slide out through the hole in the box. The seal you are looking for is in the housing with the rope on it there, loosen off the nut and hammer it out. Seal is easy to get at after that.
Some of these pumps came with a mechanical seal in them, this isnt the seal you need to change, but you have to remove it to get to it, treat the mechanical seal with kid gloves as its easy broken, and about 3-350 to replace. They also came with a packer seal which was a far better job imo, its buttons to replace. Once you remove the impeller from the shaft, the mechanical seal will be right behind it.
There is a double set of seals in the vacuum side, turned opposite ways. Thats basically what happened to mine, bearing split, shaft went down and opened up a hole, she could suck the oil out of the gearbox in about 10 load.
I'm looking for an image online of the seal that goes on the impeller end of the shaft on the sludgetator Side it's a round steel fella with a rubber seal sat into the outer side. Mine is broken and I don't know what is in the inner side on the shaft. Ive a man going to make one so trying to size up one.
