The Cover Plate is located at the suction end of the split casing slurry pump. It forms the outer shell of the pump’s front half and works together with the Frame Plate (rear half) to complete the pump chamber.
Being directly exposed to the pump cavity pressure and piping forces, the cover plate must be structurally strong and highly wear-resistant. It also supports the front liner and forms part of the volute profile.
