Going into a nvz so need a lagoon for 22 weeks storage! Wondering how much this will cost
A lined lagoon? How many gallons are you thinking you will need to store?
Lined lagoons can be a knightmare water can get between the liner and bottom of hole and lift the linner up which then gets caught with stirrer ect and knackered. if youve got clay on the farm thats the best and cheepest way to build a lagoon
Depends if you have a relief drain underneath. Hire in the biggest 360 possible,I did most of mine with my 13t machine, used a 22t machine when I got stuck and it made it look like a toy.
Like everything they have to be done properly like you say with a drain underneath but i have seen one where as i say the linner lifted no idea if it had a drain underneath, but i suppose if you got a hole in the liner the drain could soon be blocked
I didn't have enough clay only 2' then quicksand concreting stirring points wouldn't be a bad idea.
Had to be carefull digging it then!
Not really, the liner floats to the surface fairly rapidly.
I'm thinking about 2 million gallons? No clay on farm got a 16 ton digger and dump trailers,
What bedding?
Sawdust?
We have a 40m x 30m, 1 million gallon lagoon and have a big problem with rain water gathering in it due to the large surface area. This problem has escalated to the point where we have had to put a roof over our lagoon so as we have enough storage for the winter. The cost of spreading all this extra "slurry" should be something you consider into the cost of your new lagoon
Any idea how much a 1 million gallon lagoon costs? Without a roof just roughly as I know there will be many variations and variables
My guess a million gallon lagoon ( going by our half million) liner only would be 35k+ ish!?
The liner on my lagoon has lifted after I caught it with the stirrer. Absolute nightmare trying to suck slurry out as liner sucks to the end of the pipe. Not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions?
You will have to empty it and get a piece 'welded' in will you not? Not so good.
Wouldn't want to put sand in a lined lagoon imo. Would a tower not be an option?
