Heavy duty steel construction
Ring shank for locking effect and lasting hold
Large round metal head provides extra protection against tear-through
These nails are excellent as cap nails for roofing applications. They secure roof underlayment to the substrate, and their ring shank is especially useful for this as it has a tremendous locking effect in wood. Parts of the roof underlayment are often exposed to wind gusts, as construction workers need time to add shingles. Even if they can add all the shingles in one day, there will still be times when it is left exposed and vulnerable to wind.
Metal cap roofing nails are excellent for keeping the roof underlayment secure, but they can also be used to fasten asphalt shingles. Instead of changing nails when it’s time to add the shingles, you can use one type, saving time and resources. Thanks to their caps, metal round-cap roofing nails also spread the load over a larger area, effectively reducing the chance of tear-throughs due to wind.
