Product Type:Welded Wire Mesh Panel Construction Material:Steel Finish:Galvanised Panel Sizes:6ft x 3ft or 8ft x 4ft Gauges:6G, 10G or 12G Aperture/Hole Sizes: 25mm x 25mm, 50mm x 50mm, 25mm x 75mm Guide to Wire Gauges: Wire gauge is the measurement of the diameter, or thickness of the wire. The larger the number, the smaller the wire, meaning a 12-gauge wire is thinner than a 6-gauge wire. 12-gauge wire is approx. 2.5mm thick 10-gauge wire is approx. 3mm thick 6-gauge wire is approx. 4.5mm thick For more information on wire gauges and which gauge is best for your application, see our Ultimate Guide to Wire Gauges. Guide to Galvanisation: All our wire mesh panels are hot-dipped galvanised, which is where the steel is coated with a protective coating to help the steel resist corrosion and rust. Our standard range of wire panels are hot-dipped galvanised beforewelding, meaning that each individual wire is galvanised and then welded together to form the panel. This is a more economical process, however, it does carry a small risk that the welded process may remove a small amount of the galvanised coating. Our premium wire mesh panels are galvanised after welding, meaning that there is 100% coverage and no chance of any part of the panel not having the protective coating. N.B: Any cuts made into the steel may rust where the new metal is exposed. Please ensure to protect these cut ends with galvanised spray or paint. For more information on our galvanisation process, check out our Galvanisation Guide.
What is a mesh panel? Wire mesh panels refers to metal wires that are linked to one another by welding to form a mesh panel that is used for security fencing, animal enclosures, pond covers and garden fencing. What is the purpose of wire mesh? The main purpose of wire mesh is to separate, screen or shield certain areas, to add structure, such as for retaining walls, or to safely contain animals. What is the standard size of wire mesh? Our wire mesh panels are available in sizes 6ft x 3ft and 8ft x 4ft, in a range of gauges and hole sizes to suit varying needs. For example, a smaller mesh size of 25mm would be better suited to containing small animals, whereas 50mm would be suitable for containing larger animals. What can you use wire mesh panels for? Wire mesh panels can be used for: Security fencing Pet cages and animal enclosures Aviaries and bird cages Pond covers and leaf protection Garden fencing Metal fencing Chicken coops Dog fencing Security cages Pet hutches Climbing plant support
