3 mg nic salts vs 3 mg free base nicotine

I'm looking for the smoothest hit possible, but I have a few questions. I diy, will my recipe ratios stay the same, will the flavor be the same and will my coil life be the same?

Ratios and coil life will remain the same. I only use salts for diy and cannot comment on freebase vs salts for flavor. I can tell you salts are almost flavorless. I did two testers of the same single flavor, apple, one with salts and one no nic. I think the salts one was slightly brighter, could have been imagination as I was looking for a difference.

I wouldn't expect much change other than a much smoother hit, and maybe less of the nicotine "taste". I use 18 mg/ml nic salts in all my DIY mixes, and really only noticed that coil life etc. improved, however, I think that is more an artifact of starting DIY than anything to do with nic salts themselves. Plenty of folks are using them, and coil life just doesn't seem to come up as an issue. I find my nic salts almost flavorless when I taste them, but what I really like about them is the lack of throat hit. I think your plan will decrease harshness, and not do much else besides that. I am using the Nicotine River nicotine salts at 3 or 4 mg and don't notice any throat hit or taste from them. But not really any noticeable throat hits at those levels with freebase either.
