great smell but no taste

    jerseyman32 asks:

This has happened to me several times ill smell the juice and its fantastic but when i put it in my tank i get no flavor, ive used rta, rba, and kanger tanks.tried steeping for a few weeks and still nothing.what causes this or is it just me.

    alicewonderland replies:

could be the power you are vaping at. or if you are using 100%VG it drowns out the flavor a bit more than a pg mixture. it might also be the juice, unless its all the juices you tried, then it could possibly be that you are expecting too much flavor from vaping. what specific gear are you using and what are you vaping?

    towelie asks:

By RBA do you mean a dripper? Whats the juice?

    jerseyman32 replies:

Its not all juices, just a few..using a istick or my mvp,and yes i mean dripper by rba..i guess its just the juice.usually a 50/50 mix ratio as well

    AndriaD replies:

It could also be one of the signposts along the way of recuperating tastebuds; when I first started, there weren't many juices I could actually taste, nevermind how great they smelled. That's clearing up to some extent, but also I now DIY most of what I vape, and I use a pretty heavy hand with flavoring percentages, and sweetener -- sweetener can really make a blah juice POP. It's also the fact that a large portion of the sense of taste actually is smell; exhaling thru your nose can give you a LOT of flavor. But in general, vape flavors are fairly muted, compared to actual edibles. I do seem to get most flavor from the exhale, rather than the inhale, and especially if I exhale thru my nose. It takes some getting used to.

    snarfies replies:

Some just brands are just like that - largely flavorless. Tell us the flavor, and I imagine we can give you an alternative you can properly taste.

    Cowboy192 replies:

You my friend need to get some unflavoured, I get the same issue, I find puffing away on some (nearly) unflavoured gives my tastebuds a chance to come back to life, are you pushing the power or going to stronger and stronger flavours? That's what I was doing and my buds were getting less and less sensitive, a couple days of unflavoured seems to give them a bit of r&r time

    Oberon75 replies:

I tend to have this problem with Mister eLiquid. It smells great and could taste good if it wasn't so faint. If they only offered a flavor boost, their liquid would be great.

    Evi|grin replies:

When mine get muted, i have a big bowl of spicy soup like Korean kimchi stew or Thai Tom Yum. Chinese hot and sour works too. It may have something to do with the vinegar, lactic acid or lime juice in them because almost immediately juices wake up for me.

When I get a new juice, I try it at 10, 15 and 20 watts in a "normal" daily use tank. I record the best it for future. Sometimes minimal difference, and sometimes, noticeable. I was, initially, surprised that some did really well at 10w. I think the heat of the coil makes a big difference. Just a thought about taste. In the evening; on the porch or in my comfy chair, I use an RDA and have a treat. But I still look to try new things.

    jerseyman32 replies:

It is mostly with custards, coffees, and certain tobaccos.ive rarely have issues with fruity or menthols. Ive also tried different vendors

    Jake John Kowalski replies:

I've been told its called Vapers Tongue. What was recommended to me was basically chew mint gum or vaping a really strong Menthol juice and might restore your tastebuds back

    Rezyuz replies:

That pretty much describes Teleos Cloudscience Gamma and Beta for me

    congaman replies:

I think i read somewhere (or maybe it was in a dream) that a drop of lemon juice to fruit flavors makes them "pop". Never tried it but if it was in one of my dreams, it must be true! LOL

    twgbonehead replies:

Yes, but do it in the tank, not in the bottle! Lemon juice can really perk up a flavor, but after a couple of days it starts to kill the flavor (I think the acidity starts to destroy the flavor molecules), so don't add it to more than a day's worth of liquid!
