New to vaping. Are refillable pods really worth the hype?

    Hey everyone

I started vaping around 4 months ago. Since I started ive been using disposable vapes. Ive been considering getting myself a device like a geekvape but now that Ive done my research i cant help but notice that disposable vapes seem to be more worth it. At least where I live, I can pay 20 euros and get a device with 40k puffs, whereas a geekvape would cost me around 40-50 euros and i would have to refill every 2 weeks and pay an additional 10 euro. Apart from the increased wattage that a device might offer is there really any other pros to a refilable device? Please enlighten me.

    Hi

Im guessing it depends where you live as here in the UK disposables are soon to be banned. also even though they can be bought we are suposadly limited to 2ml tank/pod size with a max 20mg nic salts / 18mg freebase. america for instance can buy upto 50mg.

ive got over 55 kits now in 10 years and the initial outlay is pricey but well worth it in the long run as after the first year you start saving as all you buy is coils and juice. in 10 years ive saved over £35,000 compared to what it cost me on smoking and with the continuous price rise of smokes it would be even higher than that.

maybe not the best person to advise as ive never touched a disposable and also loath salts so hopefully someone else can advise better than me.

    Hi

firstly the puff count on most disposables is only accurate if you do not exceed a 1 second draw. Longer draws reduces the puff count you can achieve. Using disposables limits you to the nicotine strength and amount of flavours that the disposable comes in. Once it's used and run out of eliquid you throw it away and buy another one and the cycle continues.

Buying a good but cheapish refillable pod shouldn't cost more that twice that of a disposable. You can use whatever flavour you like, tailor your nicotine strength, adjust the power you vape at and overall it will be far cheaper in the long run. Not forgetting you own something rather than chucking it away each time.

I think when it comes to more serious vaping like doing tricks maybe a refillable with adjustable wattage might be the better option. But as for simple leisure vaping (where cloudchasing isnt your first priority) disposables are easier to carry and just simpler. But thanks for your input. I just bought a CRYSTAL device to try out.

I dont think you will find anyone on here that buys a kit to do tricks. the average age is 30-70 and the main reason is to stay of the cigs.

and i guess the plastic waste where no one gives a shit where they dump them when drained is a plight on the environment.

I'm quite surprised at your reply. A refillable pod with adjustable wattage and even replaceable coils is no heavier or bulkier and no more complicated that a disposable. Buying a 600 puff disposable every other day or even the bigger puff disposables is a very costly method of vaping when compared to refillable pod systems.

Why you think they are designed for tricks baffles me. The majority of vapers use pods or mods for the reasons I explained in my earlier message. A simple refillable pod with variable wattage can cost as little as £10 and eliquid as little as £5 for 60ml.

Not sure how helpful this is, if I was to be buying a pod system today it would be the oxva nexlim has dual coil pods, and from everything I've heard has great flavour and the pods last a long time.

When you've used up the juice in a non-refillable device it won't work any more so you throw it away but if you can't be bothered to fill one up, don't care about the waste or the fact such devices cost more in the long run then knock yourself out.
