In Wenling, China, a client named Zhao undertook a river dredging project that required the transportation of sand slurry sediment from the river stacking point to a location 2 kilometers away. Zhao’s team had already cleared the river of debris, and the sand present in the river was mixed with mud but did not contain any large or fibrous materials. To meet the project’s sand capacity requirements and time constraints, our engineers conducted calculations to determine the appropriate specifications for a horizontal slurry pump. The desired flow rate for the solid-liquid mixture was determined to be approximately 1000 cubic meters per hour, leading us to select the DS300-75 model of the horizontal slurry pump for the pumping and delivery operations.
Considering the relatively low noise level of the horizontal slurry pump’s motor, it was deemed more cost-effective to utilize an electric motor rather than a diesel engine. Responding to the client’s preference, we opted for a 220 kW motor based on the parameters of the selected horizontal slurry pump. Additionally, to enhance motor protection and facilitate convenient pump control during operation, we equipped the slurry pump with a variable frequency control cabinet. After sharing the program parameters and details of the related equipment with the client, we engaged in further discussions to address any specific concerns or requirements.
