Our collaboration with Clarkson (USA) commenced in 1989 and extended until 1997. During this period, we introduced the Elastomer Based Valve Technology to the Indian market, which stands as the finest Packingless Zero Leakage Knife Gate Valve globally. In 1997, Energo set up its own R&D team to subject the design of Packingless BiDirectional Elastomer Based Knife Gate Valves to a continuing dynamic development covering a very large range of Pressure, Temperature, Chemical, Physical, Corrosion, Erosion and Erosion of Corrosion resistance and many more severe applications. FGD Valves (Flue Gas Desulfurization)
FGD is a continuous plant, therefore, reliability is of highest importance if leaked lime slurry collects d/s in casings, it can cause impeller to freeze and prevent it from turning when the pump is started. The resulting high start up torque can damage or break the pump shaft.

Lime Slurry is corrosive and abrasive Lime particles do not dissolve, remained suspended in solution
- Lime slurry comprise of 30% solid ground to < 44μ, fine particles have strong tendency to accumulate in cracks, crevices, voids, cavities in valves
