The design of a slurry pump is critical to ensure that the abrasive and corrosive aspects of the slurry do not damage the impeller. In addition, slurries and sludges can contain large amounts of unforeseen solids, which will inevitably clog many types of pumps. The abrasive nature of the slurry will quickly wear out the worm gear. Please choose CHONGMU pump, we use self-developed high chromium wear-resistant alloy cast iron, whose material has good wear resistance, corrosion resistance and impact resistance, thus increasing the service life. In addition, the series pump adopts dynamic pressure reduction to ensure that the slurry is not easy to leak, and the specifications are complete.
Choosing the right material for a slurry pump is another key process in determining the right pump to handle the slurry. If the slurry is highly abrasive with a neutral pH, then the best material of construction is high chromium. This metallurgy has the highest Brinell hardness and can withstand the abrasiveness of the slurry. On the other hand, if the slurry is not only highly abrasive but also has a low pH, then a duplex stainless steel construction is preferable. For slurry pumps, this material can best withstand corrosive materials such as acids, while still having a high Brinell level.
Determining the ideal deployment of the slurry pump is an important step in determining the ideal setup. Submerged suction deployment: For full-liquid suction pumps, the fluid to be pumped is located above the pump. When the pump is located below, gravity can feed fluid into the pump suction port and keep the pump started. Submersible deployment: A pump that is completely submerged in a fluid is called a submersible pump. By submerging in the fluid to be pumped, no start-up is required. Self-priming deployment: With a self-priming device, the pump and power unit are not submerged. Can be trailer mounted for added maneuverability.
Depending on the abrasiveness of the slurry, it is important to select the ideal seal. Slurry pump seals should have a hardened surface made of silicon carbide or tungsten carbide. CHOMGMU Pump uses a double mechanical seal unit and a separate seal flushing system. This allows the sealing surface to be cooled at all times and does not cause the slurry to overheat the seal and crack the surface.
It is critical to determine the proper slurry pump size and power requirements for your application. Depending on the abrasive nature of the slurry, it is important to size the pump so that it can run at a slow enough speed to extend the life of the slurry pump. The ideal speed to run a slurry pump is between 900-1200 RPM. Once this speed is started to be exceeded, the life of the pump is significantly reduced.
