At SERECO, we have been providing sludge treatment services with filter presses for over 25 years. Our mobile equipment allows us to respond swiftly to our clients’ needs and offer tailored technical solutions for any situation. Generally, mobile filtration plants are recommended when separating solids from liquids, whether organic or inorganic, without the presence of hydrocarbons. However, exceptions can be made depending on the sludge’s nature and the tests conducted in our laboratory. This technique is widely used across industries. Filter presses play a key role in mining for ore concentration and tailings treatment, in drilling sludge processing, in the dehydration of sludge from Water Purification Plants (WPP), and in the food and paper industries. The versatility of this method makes it a popular choice when efficient sludge dehydration is required. We have at our disposal equipment that adapt to the client’s necessities, with performances that range from 30m 3 per day to 150m 3 per day of sludge in pulp. The results in terms of dryness of the dry filtered material is in values ranging about the 70%. SERECO’s on-site sludge treatment with filter presses allows our clients to manage sludge without the need for significant investments. Combined with our innovative sludge removal system, this enables a fast and efficient process for cleaning and dehydrating stored sludge with complete safety and environmental care. Additionally, treating sludge on-site results in substantial cost savings. We collaborate closely with leading professionals and institutions, providing expertise in research, consulting, and the implementation and management of treatment plants in the field. Our extensive experience has also enabled us to work with some of the top filter press manufacturers, contributing to improvements in both safety and productivity.

    Maximum Dryness

With the filtering, the sludge obtains a high dryness, saving subsequent drying processes.

    Security

Minimizes the risk of environmental accidents during the transport of waste.

    Savings

Clients benefit from a significant reduction in costs, by only transporting dry residue.

    Water Recuperation

ON SITE sludge filtration allows for the recovery of a high percentage of water, which can then be reused.

ON SITE SLUDGE TREATMENT WITH FILTER PRESS

At SERECO, we start each project with a thorough and individualized analysis to determine the most suitable solution. This includes defining all treatment phases and preparing a tailored cost proposal. Laboratory tests are conducted using a sample of the sludge to identify its nature and composition (organic, inorganic, oil-based, etc.). Based on the results, the appropriate dehydration system is selected, specifying both the technology and the necessary components for the treatment plant. _These mobile filtration plants, in addition to the filter press, feature modern mixing, agitation, and decanting equipment. They also include state-of-the-art pumping systems, offering higher flow rates and improved performance, along with advanced additive dosing systems that ensuremaximum safetyfor personnel andgreater control over additive usage._ The dewatering process starts with the extraction of sludge settled at the bottom. Depending on the project’s technical requirements, we use either our ATEX-certified dredger or extraction pumps. If the sludge contains a high amount of sand, it must be desanded before entering the filter press. The desanding and thickening stages depend largely on the sand content and how the sludge responds to coagulation and flocculation processes. When sludge concentration is low and thickens well, it can be passed through a thickener. However, if the sludge has a low sand content and adequate extraction concentration, the desanding and thickening phases may not be necessary and can be skipped. After extraction, the sludge undergoes a specific filtration process to achieve effective solid-liquid separation. The drying process concludes with the transport and proper management of the resulting solid fraction, while the clarified water is either returned to the pond or, depending on the required quality, sent back to the beginning of the process for reuse. We offer equipment tailored to each client’s specific needs, achieving yields of 30 m³/day to 150 m³/day of pulp sludge. The filtered dry matter reaches a dryness level of over 70%, ensuring compliance for landfill admission. When it comes to extracting industrial sludge from pits, settling ponds, or industrial pools, SERECO utilizes highly efficient technology that allows for sludge removal without interrupting the production process. Our ecological dredge is designed to operate in extremely challenging conditions, including explosive environments classified as ATEX Type I zones.
