Dewatering Processing Equipment - Mining | Weir

    Dewatering Processing Equipment for Mining

Our wide range of dewatering processing equipment features industry-leading technologies which are proven to perform in the toughest of applications.

    Dewatering Solutions by Weir

Mines cannot operate without a robust and flexible dewatering strategy.

As no two mines are the same, each site’s dewatering requirements will vary, with environmental and geological considerations as well as local climatic variations that present unique challenges.

Variations in weather conditions can have a significant effect on open-pit mining in particular, and even mines operating above the water table can be subject to significant influxes of water caused by environmental changes such as heavy rainfall or, in colder climates, melting snow in the springtime.

Therefore, it is essential that the dewatering systems in place have the capacity to handle the maximum potential volume of water inflow to avoid downtime and prevent any risks to safe operation.

A variety of factors dictate the type of dewatering system required for a specific mine. The permeability and porosity of the ground, the amount of surface water, geological features such as underground rivers and seasonal rainfall must all be assessed and factored into a detailed dewatering system before work can begin.

At the forefront of every operator’s requirements from their dewatering equipment is efficiency and reliability, lifetime ownership cost and ease of maintenance.

At Weir, we design and engineer a full range of mine dewatering pumps and equipment under our well-known brands Multiflo®, Hazelton®, Floway®, Warman® and GEHO®. We pride ourselves on our global reputation as the mining and quarrying industries’ premier supplier of mine dewatering systems, a reputation we’ve built over more than 40 years of practical experience. Our range of reliable and robust dewatering and pumping equipment are suitable for any drainage or water transfer application, providing optimum pumping performance in mining, quarrying and industrial applications all over the world. Whether you’re pumping water, solids or slurries, our range of heavy duty dewatering pumps won’t let you down.

    Pontoon Barges and Pump Floats

Whether you’re pumping water, solids or slurries, our Multiflo® range of pump barges, pontoons and floats won’t let you down. Custom built to endure the toughest operating conditions, Multiflo® dewatering products can be used across mining, quarrying, industrial, water transfer and environmental water management applications to provide an efficient and reliable dewatering solution. Combining ruggedness and flexibility, our floating pontoon barges are available with a skid base and trailer, single, double and triple mounted pontoon pumps and diesel, electric or hydraulic driven options. We also offer a range of pump floats to suit a range of submersible pump applications.

    Solid-Liquid Separation Equipment

At Weir, we supply a wide range of solid-liquid separation equipment for mining, aggregate and general industries including centrifuges, thickeners and filter presses. Solid-liquid separation is a process that exists in almost every flowsheet related to mining. We can supply a range of end-to-end integrated solutions to assist with your needs.

    Cavex® Dewatering Hydrocyclone

The Cavex® dewatering cyclone features the innovative laminar spiral inlet geometry design of the original Cavex® hydrocyclone range, but with additional accessories that allow it to create a dry and stackable product. The hydrocyclone is usually fitted on a boom that can be rotated and adjusted. It also contains a discharge regulator (e.g. fishtail, duckbill, flapper) below the spigot to increase efficiency and deliver a consistent underflow density, regardless of solids content variation in the feed. The Cavex® dewatering cyclone is best suited to tailings, desliming and dewatering applications.
