We've always had 4" pipe but bought a couple of lengths of 5" to run from pump and it has helped output but we have a hole in the middle of the pipe about a quarter of " with the 4" pipe we would put a sleeve on it tried it with the 5" but won't work and it 10ft long sleeve! Any help?
In what way won't it work?
Slurry runs out both ends of sleeve it's like the 5" doesn't expand to tighten the sleeve the way 4" does
You need a better pump Come to think I've never had a patch on my 6" ,I have sleeves on the ends and it certainly tightens up on them. Your other option is a "mender" just a straight join, common in the us.
That looks job! What pump you running we hd35
Don't generally have a problem with sleeves leaking on 5" or 6" for that matter. Maybe try a shorter sleeve so it puts more pressure over the hole. Or if you on very watery slurry put some thicker slurry through. Slightest bit of fibre should seal it.
I would put some good quality duck tape around it and slide the sleeve over it,then as suggested above make the Sleeve shorteer.. Failing that then a joiner..
I've seen it once a second shorter sleeve on top of the long sleeve where the hole is. It makes the longer a bit tighter.
Have a cri-man now,my 6" angus hose swells to near 10" when we're pumping hard. I hate driving over 6" when spreading,it near throws you out of your seat.
What you spread to hr with 5-6 "?
I've a 6inch gash in one of my 5inch pipes, the one I usually use out of the pump, got a 2ft sleeve over it and seals everytime unless pumping dirty water. It gets reeled in and out every day nearly and sleeve moves sometimes do just put another sleeve over it doesn't budge at all now.
What make of hose is it ?
