p lithium slurry pump for sale

8000l vs 10000l vac pump

    Real World Performance

What's the real world performance of these two pumps? It was said on another thread that on hilly ground 8000l would be more suitable?

    Pump Preference

I went from a 10,000 back to a 8,000 pump and didn't miss it at all. Although when using a 2500gallon SlurryKat tanker with its pump that I think is 11,000 or 13,000 its serious loud, but a great job. Was drawing along along with a 2250 NC with 10,000 pump and I could arrive at the tank with him filling, fill my own load and be away before his was filled, it has full height sight glass and it just flew up. But as with the 10,000 pump you cant get low enough revs to stop it blowing off when spreading.

    Pump Performance on Hills

10000 pump on a 1600gal here, its grand most of time, handy filling. We cant use the Eco pto bout 1200 revs on tractor spreading any more it's blowing off. As said tho can be a pain on hills. Have often had to knock out pump to get a burst up a bit of a bank even when down to a half load.

    Pump Size and Performance

It won't make any significant difference to your filling/emptying time. Have a 10,000 litre pump here on a tanker with a trailing shoe. Working the shoe, the pump is fine as the shoe spreads faster, working the splash plate the pump is too big. An 8000 litre pump, wide angle PTO and hydraulic change over will run rings around a conventional set up 10,000 pump.

    Blowing Off

But as with the 10,000 pump you cant get low enough revs to stop it blowing off when spreading. yes that is a prob alright does it do them any harm to just let them blow off all the time when emptying?

    Pump Issues

have a 10000l pump on tanker and not really happy with it. new pipework between pump and tank a yr ago, oil dropper set correctly and vanes seemed ok last yr when I took it apart. seems to take a long time to fill today - although tanker pointing slightly downhill and slurry had plenty of water in it pump is 11yrs old and we've only had it a couple. is it worn out or something else bit clueless as have never really had much to do with slurry spreading!

    Pump Seals

did u replace the seals in the pump, they r done in ours and the vanes r fine, all still free. lad burnt/melted the seals by having the pipe stuck to the ass of a tank and smoke coming from pump, still waiting for tanker to fill.

    Smoky Pump

pump would be pretty smoky when filling

    Pump Condition

They can be finicky enough to sort the problem if you don't know much about them. Is the machine in good overall condition for its age? Was the machine working better when you got it first than it is now? I would say it was in good enough condition for its age tank is 10yr old acc to plate and pump 11yr old so I'm guessing not original pump. would say it did used to work better a yr ago (iirc) one of the cogs in the gearbox got damaged - took a few chunks out of itself

    Blockage Check

A fellow could be here all night asking questions, Did you check the suction hose for a blockage up the pipe a stick or stone could be lodged up there and check the end of the hose isn't frayed because that would close in when sucking no blockage and hose not frayed

    Sucking or Blowing

no blockage and hose not frayed were u sucking or blowing??

    Discharge Unit

Any of ye cut out a bigger hole on the rubber cone on the discharge unit? that eliminates the build up of pressure in the tank and reduces blockages when spreading. Yup, have it done. Pump is still too big.

    Pump Direction

were u sucking or blowing?? Pump was sucking

    Slurry Intake

I would say the pump is where your problem is so, did it take in slurry at any stage? Did you ever try to turn the pump by hand to see will it turn without much effort? no slurry afaik always turn pto shaft by hand when hooking ion and turns freely

    Pump Inspection

Right James, It looks like all the obvious things are ok, Its looking like the pump will have to be open again and give it a good checking over and i would give it a new set of vanes even if the old ones look ok. but if you don't know much about them i would give it to some one who does . I found a good site on the net a couple of years ago showing how to repair pumps, I will look for it again and if I find it I will post it here for you Have you checked pipe from pump to the tank isn't collapsing inside?can happen on any age pipe

    Pipe Condition

Have you checked pipe from pump to the tank isn't collapsing inside?can happen on any age pipe no although it was new a yr or so ago. how long should it last?

    Pump Speed

Yup, have it done. Pump is still too big. 13000 litre pump here and it's fine on splashplate. The key is getting one with 1000 speed input speed. Can slow it down plenty then.

    Pipe Lifespan

no although it was new a yr or so ago. how long should it last? Should last longer than a year but always worth a look to check it

    Nozzle and Vanes

Cut the rubber nossle back as far as it takes to stop the relief valve blowing off or simply set the pressure down on the relief valve but cutting the nozzle does speed up emptying the tanker. The vanes will last about 3 times longer in a 10000l pump than a 8000l. Must be more material in them or something

    Evaluation

I have an 8000 litre pump here on a 1600 gal abbey with a 5 inch hose ,3mins 45 seconds to fill in reasonable slurry from a 7 ft tank, with a tm 125 at 1050 revs. Post figures,it's the only way to evaluate.

    Cone Cutting

Cut the rubber nossle back as far as it takes to stop the relief valve blowing off or simply set the pressure down on the relief valve but cutting the nozzle does speed up emptying the tanker. The vanes will last about 3 times longer in a 10000l pump than a 8000l. Must be more material in them or something Prefer this option can easily ruin spread pattern cutting the cone

    Pump Direction Confirmation

Pump was sucking just checking incase you were having a blonde moment

    Pressure Release

It shouldnt make any odds if the prv is blowing off when spreading, the tank gets to pressure and your opening a spring to let the excess pressure out if pump is smokey when sucking the slurry is too thick the pipe is blocked or theres too much drops in the oiler

    Nozzle Cutting Concerns

Prefer this option can easily ruin spread pattern cutting the cone Ive always wanted one of theese on my 3000 tank, though I wouldnt bother with the second valve. from past experience I wouldnt be mad about cutting the nozzle. It wouldnt be that expensive, biggest trouble would be fabricating the 6" steel piping to shape

    Valve Considerations

Ive always wanted one of theese on my 3000 tank, though I wouldnt bother with the second valve. from past experience I wouldnt be mad about cutting the nozzle. It wouldnt be that expensive, biggest trouble would be fabricating the 6" steel piping to shape Can soon put one together. That is all just off the shelf parts bolted together. Second valve could be handy for very low rates or steep hills
