Video Transcript: How to Replace a Drain Pump on a Zanussi Washing Machine

Welcome to BuySpares. In this video we will show you how to replace a drain pump in a Zanussi washing machine.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first disconnected from the mains.

If your drain pump squeals when running or does not run at all and you have checked it's not jammed you may need to replace it. On many Zanussi machines you can replace the pump by accessing it from underneath.

Washing machines can be very heavy to lower, if you do not feel comfortable handling it on your own please use an assistant.

Start by disconnecting the power, the hoses, and then remove the soap drawer, before lowering onto a mat or carpet.

Remove the pump from the filter by pressing this clip and turning the pump to detach it.

Check the filter chamber is clear and the seal is fitted correctly before refitting the pump, transfer the connections to the new pump.

Carefully lift the machine back upright and reconnect the hoses and the power.
