Slurry actually refers to an object formed by mixing water or other types of liquids with some insoluble solids in the liquid. The physical and flow characteristics of slag slurry are determined by factors such as the type, size, morphology, and content of solid substances in the slurry. Accurately describing a type of slurry in engineering requires the following main characteristic parameters. Secondly, it is necessary to master the characteristics and classification of slag slurry. In industrial applications, slurries are classified into different types based on their characteristics.
The slurry can be roughly divided into two types: homogeneous slurry and non-uniform slurry.
(1) The particles of solid matter in a homogeneous slurry are very small, so fine that even when the slurry is in a stationary state, no sediment will be produced. But with the continuous change of concentration, there will be macroscopic viscosity changes in the slurry. Therefore, in the selection of slurry, great attention should be paid to the uniformity of the slurry.
(2) The situation of non-uniform slurry is opposite to that of homogeneous slurry, where the solid particles in non-uniform slurry are larger. In a static state, the slurry will produce obvious precipitates, and the coarser particles will increase the wear resistance of the slurry. In our industrial production, we generally encounter non-uniform slurries.
From a physical perspective, slurry pump belongs to a type of centrifugal pump. It is a device that generates centrifugal force through the rotation of the impeller of the pump, increasing the energy of the mixed medium of liquid water and solid particles. A slurry pump is a pump type machine used to transport highly corrosive, non-uniform particle objects, and high proportion of slurry. This is also fundamentally different from ordinary water pumps. The slurry pump we see in industrial production belongs to a type of pump product that transports slurry.
